I for one have been very impressed at how quickly Dell has embraced the functionality of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core power processor. It is efficient and cost-effective next to the highly priced and second-to-the-market Pentium Dual Core Processor.
So, how could Dell make it work for them even more? That's right, start planting them in their laptops and save even more money.
At of the end of October, Dell will have AMD powered laptops available to you for a price under the $500 mark. The first one to roll off the production line will include a 15.4-inch LCD screen followed by a 17-inch model in the first part of 2007.
If you need a cheap laptop, this one might be a winner.
