Alleged alcoholic gay pedophile Congressman Mark Foley has a new accusation to fend off…that he was a roadie for the Allman Brothers!
It turns out that Foley was an "honorary" roadie for the veteran hippy jam band in the early 90s, when he was a state senator in Florida. Foley once described the gig as "wild" and "crazy" in an interview.
In fact, the job helped him get tight with late Rep. Sonny Bono (he of Sonny and Cher fame), which led to taking over Bon’s House's Entertainment Task Force after the singer-turned-Congressman’s death. Foley was also buddies with Allman drummer Butch Trucks, and even sold a house to former Allman guitarist Dickey Betts back when he was a Florida realtor. It was Gregg Allman that introduced Foley to Cher, who then introduced him to Sonny.
Wow! This dude is a rocker! Now, I wonder if he was in charge of tuning Betts’ guitar to hit the right notes, as opposed to his current gig, where he sends creppy notes to underage male pages?
