Sylvester Stallone has a plot and a title for Rambo IV, and it's quite the chew-over. The title of the film is to be Rambo IV: In The Serpent's Eye. Kind of sounds like a mid-80's Wes Craven thriller, doesn't it? Well, ol' John Rambo is back again, and this time he's been hired by a coalition of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them from pirates in Burma.
Did someone say pirates? Yes. Pirates.
While not necessarily a swashbuckler, Mr. Rambo looks like he's going to have to do some work on the high seas. The high seas of Burma. Oh, lordy. Was there ever a film that seemed more doomed from the start?
The good news, if there is good news that can be gleaned from all of this, is that Stallone himself will be writing, producing, directing, and starring in the project. And before you get all, like...what? Sly's writing a movie? Let me remind you that the man wrote the first Rocky movie.
In a weekend.
So, it's possible...just ever so slightly possible that Rambo IV: In The Serpent's Eye won't suck.
But I wouldn't bet on it.
