After having a San Diego judge declare they had to change their name from Supernova because a band already owned that moniker, TV’s supergroup of Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Jason Newsted (ex-Metallica) and winning vocalist Lukas Rossi have decided on the name of their new band.
Drum roll please….
And the new name of Rock Star’s Supernova is…

Yes, a spokesperson from the label the newly chastened band is signed to, Epic Records, confirmed the altered name. The label will release the band's debut LP on November 21, though two tunes ("It's All Love" and "Be Yourself & 5 Other Cliches") are available for streaming via the band’s MySpace page.
Rock Star Supernova will launch a 28-city North American tour with The Panic Channel (featuring the show's co-host Dave Navarro) in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.
So that’s it then. The lamest band name of all time has been bestowed upon the lamest band of all time. It’s settled then.
