Citing technichal problems with the Blu-Ray player, Sony announced this morning that the European launch of the PlayStation 3 will be delayed until March. Sorry, Luxembourg.
"The mass production of the Blu-ray laser diode, the key component of the PS3, will be delayed by around one month," Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi said at a press conference.
"To address this challenge, we would like to delay the launch in Europe until next March."
The company still plans to release the PS3 in Japan on Nov 11 and in the US on Nov 17, and promises 2 million units for sale on those dates.
Assuming you don't live in Europe TheFeed reader, I gotta ask the big question: Are you gonna buy a PS3 when it comes out? Personally, I'm going to buy eight of them, then trade them for gasoline and water after the insurrection. It'll be cool. Like Mad Max.
