Motorhead Rocks, Lemmy Rolls

Legendary bass-wielding frontman Lemmy Kilmister has two new albums in stores now, the latest bludgeoning from his band Motorhead (Kiss of Death), plus the debut CD from his rockabilly trio the Head Cat, called Fool's Paradise.

Kiss of Death is the 23rd (!!!) Motorhead effort and is just as fierce and heavy as all the rest. The album even features a tune called "God Was Never on Your Side" with friend Poison guitarist and Surreal Life star C.C. Deville of Poison on guest guitar.

Meanwhile, Head Cat’s Fool's Paradise is a tribute to the songs that Kilmister, who turned 60 last December, says inspired him, including such classics as Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue Got Married," Johnny Cash's "Big River," and Eddie Cochran’s "Cut Across Shorty." The band features Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom and Danny B. Harvey on guitar, bass and keyboards.

"Without those songs, there wouldn't be any Motorhead," says Kilmister, who sings and plays acoustic guitar and harmonica. "Those are my influences right there. Heavy metal is what Eddie Cochran would be doing now if he was still around."

And remember what they said in Airheads, kids:

Q: Who would win in a fight between Lemmy and God?

A: ...umm, Lemmy?

Q: Trick Question, Lemmy IS God
