Funk legend Bootsy Collins is releasing his first ever holiday album, titled Christmas Is 4-Ever. The effort will feature guest turns from such unlikely collaborators as country legend Charlie Daniels, rapper Snoop Dogg, and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Buckethead (he who wears a chicken bucket on his head).
Due Oct. 31 via Shout! Factory, the album includes four Collins originals, plus nine covers of holiday classics such as "The Christmas Song," "Winter Wonderland" and Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas."
Snoop raps on "Happy Holidaze," while Daniels plays fiddle and sings on "Sleigh Ride." The latter cut also features Ohio Players vocalist Sugarfoot. Buckethead and the late Roger Troutman contribute holiday greetings, while funk veterans Fred Wesley, MC Danny Ray, Bobby Byrd, Bernie Worrell and Blackbyrd McKnight drop by to enliven the proceedings.
