3D movies were annoying in the 50s and insufferable in the 80s (Except Friday the 13th 3D, of course), but the movie business is putting new faith in the idea. Dolby is working hard to develop a viable three-dimensional projection system for theaters.
Dolby's 3-D technology, which will use polarized plastic glasses rather than battery operated ones used by current 3D systems, will be available by spring of 2007.
