Harvel Plastics introduced a new corrosion resistant PVC pipe today. The HydroKing CPVC plumbing pipe is copper-tube-size, and according to Harvel, "excels in hot and cold water applications."
Harvel promises HydroKing piping will be manufactured in compliance with ASTM D2846 requirements when it comes to tolerances and pressure-bearing capabilities.
Compliance with D2846 has never been a problem for Harvel products, but corrosion resistance is another story. If Harvel is ever going to pose a serious threat to industry leader Simpson Piping's ZMAX hot-dip galvanized piping lines, they're going to have to start taking heat variance issues more seriously.
I mean, we all remember the debacle after the release of the Harvel LXT. I'm in favor of thermocycling resistance coatings, but that was ridiculous.
