Jay-Z’s long-rumored emergence from retirement on the rap scene has finally been confirmed. Mega-producer Timbaland recently told the BBC that he has been in the studio with recording Hova’s next album.
"Hip-Hop is too easy for me,” Timbo said. “I've got to do something that's challenging. The only thing I got coming out is Jay-Z. I'm not trying to do anything new. I'm trying to do pop. I'm trying to bring top 40 into the hood."
Geez, that quote makes this project seem reeeeeeal exciting (not!). Let’s summarize: hip hop is easy from him, he ain’t challenged, he ain’t trying to do anything new, he’s all about pop, and he mentions Jay-Z’s along-awaited new album as an afterthought.
Hey dude, I’ve got an idea for ya: why don’t you go try delivering pizza or digging ditches for a living, and then tell us about how being a multi-millionaire for sampling other people’s music isn’t interesting enough for you!
