The tech world's head has been knocked on its ass by the news that AMD, Intel's greatest rival, bought graphics card maker ATI for 5.4 billion dollars. What the newly merged company's plans are (other than being able to compete with Intel, of course) remains to be seen.
The rumors had been flying since May, among the kind of people who spread rumors about hardware manufacturing companies. Analysts now predict that Intel will try to make a move for nVidia in order to stay in the game.
The feathers have yet to settle as far as what it means to consumers but hey, now you know the haps.
