People, we must put a stop to Ron Wood. He is a bad influence on poor Keith Richards.
Case in point: The state of Arkansas is prepared to pardon Keith Richards for reckless driving…31 years after the Rolling Stones guitarist was arrested alongside Wood and two others when an saw the car swerve and pulled them over.
Richards was driving in Fordyce, Arkansas on their way to Dallas with Wood, a security guard for the Stones, and a lucky fan in tow when he bent over to adjust the radio and swerved enough for the officer to suspect he might be inebriated. Police said they smelled marijuana and took the four to City Hall.
Richards was charged with reckless driving and possession of a concealed knife, and the fan was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The knife charge was dropped, but Richards pleaded guilty to reckless driving and paid a $162.50 fine.
The state Parole Board on July 3 approved an application for clemency submitted on behalf of Richards, the 62-year-old guitarist for the Rolling Stones, by Gov. Mike Huckabee. The governor said he got the idea for a pardon when he realized that Richards' impression of Arkansas "was marred by a misdemeanor traffic stop."
But the real story here is it seems every time ol’ Keef gets in trouble, fellow Stone Ron Wood is nearby. For instance, when he fell out of a coconut tree a few months ago, guess who was by his side? RON WOOD! So, clearly, he’s a bad influence on innocent little Keith, who just wants to treat fans to scenic drives, play rock ‘n’ roll, and drink coconut milk. Can someone please arrest this man and give him the chair? Because until he is stopped I will not rest, and Keith will continue getting in trouble.
