M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water is getting ripped to tiny little celluloid shreds by just about every critic "lucky" enough to have seen the thing. There are currently no positive reviews of the film among the mainstream publications collected by rottentomatoes.com.
The general consensus: It's silly, pretentious, over-blown fake mystical bullsh*t.
Choice decriptor include "ponderous," "self-indulgent," "awkward," "inept," "alienating," and "self-absorbed." They left out "crappy," but the thought is there.
Poor Night. Poor, poor Night. In the future, maybe you shouldn't feature a bumbling, clueless movie critic as a main character.
Should you want to check it out because you're such a huge fan of Signs, the flick opens this Friday.
