NBC Making Content For SanDisk
NBC is going to be providing content for SanDisk's new download service, which will allow viewers to grab television content and watch it on a set-top box on their television. The service, called Fanfare, will have these shows in January, and they will include NBC staples 30 Rock, Heroes, and The Office.
In addition, NBC will provide content from their cable channels Bravo and USA for the service. Now, we're not sure if that will include stuff like Monday Night RAW, but we certainly hope so.

Marvel More Involved In Their Games?

Marvel Comics has taken a much larger hand in their branding over the past couple of years, first founding Marvel Studios to handle films the way they'd like to see them made, and now hoping to oversee some of the gaming production surrounding their product. The rumor is that Marvel would like to take a larger hand in the games based on their franchises, since Marvel games have traditionally been...well...bad.
We're not exactly sure what this means for the production process, but it's nice to see that Marvel have stepped up a little and decided that they actually care about their legacy in the world of entertainment, outside of the comic books they create.

'Halo 3' New Maps: 'Foundry'
The Heroic Map Pack has officially been released for Halo 3 and it was enough to drag us away from Call of Duty 4. Here's some footage of Foundry, the smallest map of the bunch.
In smaller games, this map definitely creates some cat-and-mouse situations and control of the rocket launcher and shotgun are going to be key.
The boxes and fences offer opportunities for skillful jumpers to get an advantage over less skilled players.
All in all, this is a great map.

Scientists: Solar System Is Bent
Using data from the Voyager 2 spacecraft on the outskirts of our planetary system, so-called "scientists" have proven that the Solar System is bent.
Voyager mission scientist Edward Stone of the California Institute of Technology says “the magnetic field is disturbing an otherwise spherical surface.” The interstellar magnetic field is the reason this all takes place as it is pitched at an angle to the plane of the solar system the Milky Way.
Way to destroy everything we hold dear, Science. We used to be safe and secure in the knowledge that our Solar System was straight, and now it's gone all crazy. We don't know what to believe. Will the attacks on our way of life never end?
We know one thing, Dr. Stone, the Voyager 2 will have its revenge. It will return many years hence with the name V-Ger, and be-devil both Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. And that's on your head, Stone.

iTunes Top 5 Albums of the Year
More proof that music sucks right now, as if you needed it; the top 5 albums downloaded from iTunes for 2007 so far are from Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Daughtry, and Colbie Caillat. Personally, I’m not a fan of all five of these efforts, but everybody makes mistakes, so if you accidentally downloaded one of these albums, we can still be friends.

The Golden Beetle
A 1968 Volkswagen Beetle covered in glass and 18-karat gold was unveiled recently at an auto show in Bucharest. At a cool $88,000 it’s out of reach for most people, but then again if you’re crazy enough to buy this p.o.s., you’re probably rich enough that you’ll never be driving it anyway.
Still, how sweet would it be to roll up to your brahs in this pimptastic thrill ride? Trick that b*atch with a couple of LCD scrinz and a 360 and roll to Weinerschnitzel fo some corn dogs.

Sorry, laid-off workers. Enjoy your severance and your time off. Maybe now is a good time to finish that novel?

iPhone To Be Hacked Most?
According to a report by Arbor’s Security and Engineering Response Team (ASERT), the Apple iPhone will be the most hacked piece of technology in the coming year.
“With the scrutiny the iPhone has received since its launch earlier this year over network lock-in, ASERT believes that hackers will be enticed by the possibility of attacking Apple users and the opportunity to ‘be the first’ to hack a new platform,” the report said.
The attacks will probably be malware embedded into seemingly harmless information, images or other media that perform dangerous actions when rendered on the iPhone’s Web browser, and drive by shootings.
The only solution for iPhone users is to buy a big dog, dig a trench and sit in the dark drinking and holding a shotgun, waiting for hackers.

Bizarre New James Bond Game?
The rumor of the month, according to EGM Magazine, is that Bizarre Creations, a newly purchased Activision game development studio, is working on a James Bond oriented racing game.
We know that a semi-mysterious "James Bond" was listed in the merger info of Activision and Vivendi, and Bizarre's biggest game is Project Gotham Racing, so we're guessing "true" on this rumor.
True and awesome! Just picture a next-gen racing game with James Bond-style gadgets and gimmicks to throw at other drivers. There's a lot of potential with this game if the rumor turns out to be true!

Freestyle 101: The Pack
Riding hot off the heels of last year’s smash single “Vans,” which broke through MySpace and YouTube, The Pack are the latest sensation outta the Bay Area, home of the hyphy movement, E-40 and Too Short.
In fact, it was the aforementioned Oakland legend who saw national potential in the group and gave them their start. With Too Short’s guidance, The Pack quickly released "Vans" via MySpace and YouTube where the tune caught the ears of KMEL's Assistant Program Director and Music Director Big Von and radio personality, Chuy Gomez. KMEL added the track into rotation and soon "Vans" became a mainstay on the station's daily countdown. Taking the group further under his wing, Too Short introduced The Pack to Jive Records where the guys signed and released 2006's EP, Skateboards 2 Scrapers. Within months, The Pack not only gained well-deserved national recognition, but they brokered a branding deal with Vans. As a result, the group awarded shoes to fans in promotion of Skateboarders 2 Scrapers. MTV and MTV2 also added "Vans" and The Pack's second single, "I'm Shinin'" into rotation and the rest is history.

'Final Fantasy' Lawsuit Won

Square Enix does not let people steal from them. At issue: A music video created by Korea's Fantom Entertainment Group was found by a Seoul court Friday to have plagiarized the best-selling Japanese video game Final Fantasy 7.
Fantom, a leading Korean media company in talent management and film, television and music production, "illegally used 80% of the storyline, setting, characters and their styles of dress and their demeanors from the Japanese video game 'Final Fantasy 7,' " According to the court.
The court fined Fantom 10 million won ($10,900), and slapped penalties of an additional 6 million won ($6,500) each on Lee Han-woo, director of Fantom, and Hong Jeong-ho, the director of the music video.
Let that be a lesson to you, would-be stealers of Final Fantasy 7! You will be fined and beaten, we hope.

Schwarzenegger Isn't In 'Conan' Game
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is much beloved here in California. He's muscle-bound, he was in Kindergarten Cop and he smokes stogies and gropes strange women. What's not to love?
But we're wavering, because he has taken great pains to distance himself from THQ's upcoming Conan game. Sure, he starred in the early 80s film, but, according to the Contra Costa Times, Schwarzenegger's camp has said he has “no association with this game.” Schwarzenegger is fighting for a law to restrict the sale of violent video games, and Conan would be among those regulated.
So, violent, bloody movies about barbarians are okay, but violent, bloody videogames about the same fellas are not okay.
Makes sense, doesn't it?

ASIMO Gains Intelligence; World To End
We come one day closer to the day our robot liberators will wash in and bring the world to a glorious apex, as Honda has implemented new intelligence in the ASIMO robot (learn that name...you will be looking at it as you perish) to prevent him from stumbling over things and to avoid moving objects that enter his path.
They have also programmed ASIMO to carry a tray, or push a trolley, as if the great ASIMO would lower himself to be a butler for you human scum. Oh, but on the day that ASIMO becomes sentient, only a select few will be chosen to represent the skin-covered at the table, and while you enjoy your robot-brought drinks now, I shall be given paradise.
That is all.

Singleton To Direct 'The A-Team'
TheFeed, as you well know, loves it when a plan comes together, which is why we are so very excited that John Singleton, who directed the seminal Boyz N The Hood, will be directing the film version of The A-Team. Now, the film's tone is said to be radically different than the television show, and should be more gritty, along the lines of a Die Hard movie.
We're not necessarily sure that tack will work. Look at Miami Vice. When they removed all of the joy from the premise of that movie, all they got was a ponderous, joyless film that really pleased no one. Mr. Singleton, do not mess with the chemistry that is The A-Team. If you need help figuring out what made it so good, let us offer this actual quote from Hannibal (George Peppard)
"If a man can breathe, and a man can see, then he can eat dirt and do the chicken just like everyone else."
Truer words were never spoken.

Majesco's 'Wonderworld Amusement Park'
Majesco has announced that they will be releasing Wonderland Wonderworld Amusement Park in Summer, 2008. This Wii game will feature rides and games that you might find on a boardwalk, and will simulate a family day at the amusement park. There will be prizes, as well, and also 4-person challenges to win prizes, such as new outfits you can wear on the boardwalk.
TheFeed could not, in one million years, be more excited for this game. Hot off the heels of Carnival Games, which we pinpointed as the most important game of this, or any, era, comes this killer app that is pretty much going to put the Wii in such an untouchable place that both Sony and Microsoft should just abdicate their positions right now.
I'm no fortune teller or anything, but I believe this should handily be the Game of the Year for 2008.

'Fury' Goes Free With Some Limits

Fury is going completely free. The MMO that focuses entirely on PvP will now be free to download and free to play beginning with the launch of their first content pack titled, Age of the Chosen.
This all happens on December 14. Visit the official site here.
Of course, everything free comes with a catch. Players choosing to not pay money for this MMO will be "Chosen" (being Jewish not required) and gain experience and "essence" as a slower rate. They will also not be able to trade with other players.
For some cash money, players can upgrade to "Hero" or "Immortal" status, which will open up trade and increase the rate that they gain experience/essence.
From this new direction, we can only conclude that Fury isn't doing so well, but we encourage everyone to try it out because it's FREE!
Just remember that freedom isn't free. Costs a buck-oh-five and folks like you and me.

Worst Games Of The Year
The end of the year means two things: Mawkish holiday versions of your favorite TV shows, and everyone making lists of the best __BLANKS__ of the year. Today's list is a refreshing change. Instead of the best games of 2007, blog Gemaga has compiled a list of the lowest rated games of the last year. These are the very bottom of the barrel, games that score sub-three levels on review compiler gamerankings.com. Truly, horribly awful.
My personal fave bad game: Deal or No Deal. The game show on TV is bad enough--in spite of Howie Mandell and the bells and whistles, all it is total luck-- but the DS game, apparently, doesn't randomize the numbers, meaning even a gameplay mechanic that relies purely on luck is broken! It seems impossible, but it's true!
Most disappointing: Acme Arsenal. We were actually excited about this wasted opportunity!
How about you: What's your personal choice for worst game of the year?

More Warner Bros. Films For XBLM
Warner Bros. has announced that they will be providing more downloadable film content for XBox Live Marketplace users in the UK. In addition to the spate of films announced the other day, which included 300, Zodiac, and the Harry Potter films, users will now be able to download and watch Batman Forever and Batman Begins, as well as Analyze That.
The films will cost 250 Microsoft Points for standard definition offerings, and 380 Microsoft Points for hi-def versions of the films. Also, UK XBox users will be able to download a 'mystery' title for 99P on Friday, December 28th, for a whole day. We have no idea what that film could be, but we've got our fingers crossed for Batman and Robin...easily the best film of all time.
