Lenny Kravitz’s MySpace Revolution

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Sunday, November 18, 2007 8:56 PM

Hippy rocker Lenny Kravitz will be promoting his latest album, It Is Time for a Love Revolution, via a big ol’ MySpace campaign….which is a new approach for him…you know, because he’s a hippy.

Kravitz and Virgin Records have teamed with the networking overlord for an “innovative promotional campaign” to promote the album’s Feb. 5 release dubbed “Get on the Bus With the Love Revolution.”

Cute, huh?

First, there’s a contest for fans to submit videos via MySpace demonstrating why they want to be part of his tour, which runs Jan. 17-31. The trek will feature an "old-school 1970 Eagle bus that we're totally vibing out a la Lenny," Capitol Music Group president Lee Trink explains. "The bus will pick up a contest winner and a friend in each city along the route, and Lenny will hang out with these winners on the bus. We'll videotape the whole thing and put it up on MySpace and Lenny's official site."

MTV Crowns Worst Music Videogames

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Sunday, November 18, 2007 8:59 AM

In celebration of MTV's Gamer's Week and Rock Band, MTV.com recently posted a list of the Top 5 worst music-inspired videogames. And you know what? Usually TheFeed thinks MTV lists are full of crap, but this one is pretty spot on!

Check it out!

Journey Escape
Data Age, 1982
Wimpy pop-rock band Journey actually try to escape from their sex-crazed groupies? Hmmmm…

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
Sega, 1990
The moment this lovable white-skinned (alledged) pedophile moonwalked into our hearts….and America's boy-pants.

Aerosmith: Revolution X
Midway, 1994 (arcade version); Acclaim, 1995 (console versions)
Aging Bean-Town rockers try to thwart shadowy government. With rock and a rollercoaster.

Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style
Activision, 1999
How could a Wu Tang Clan kung-fu game possibly suck? Just play and find out!

KISS: Psycho Circus - The Nightmare Child
Take 2, 2000
Much like the album of the same name, this was a major mistake for KISS…or KISS-take, as I like to call it.

So who do YOU think shoulda made the list or didn't deserve to? Speak up, mofos!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Sunday, November 18, 2007 8:13 AM

In spite of the title of the VH1 show where the never-wases make fun of has-beens and wannabes, every week really isn't the Best Week Ever.

But this week, in terms of videogames, might really be the best week ever. The slate of games that hit the street is momentous: Assassin's Creed, Super Mario Galaxy, Crysis, Kane and Lynch, etc. etc. Check out the trailers.

Of course, these huge releases aren't all that happened by a long shot. For a complete list of TheFeed's take on the week that just ended, click the cut!

CES: Interfaces the Way of the Future

Posted by Brian Leahy - Sunday, November 18, 2007 8:00 AM

At a Consumer Electronics Association press event held in NYC, several companies discussed how they believe that interfaces are going to become more important than hardware.

ArsTechnica has an interesting read over at their site about how interfaces seem to be converging on a Windows Media Center and AppleTV style.

We are even seeing Wii-like controls coming to TV remote controls.

What do you think TheFeed reader? Would you rather have hardware that could power a thousand suns or an easy-to-use, unified interface that makes using your tech so much better?

It's so close! Microsoft and BioWare were nice enough to send over three new trailers and we've thrown them together into a montage. We're that nice:
