Popular and controversial bittorrent tracking site The Pirate Bay is trying its cyber-hand at promoting bands for a change…instead of ripping them off.
The Pirate Bay is offering a link to download Swedish glam rock band Lamonte’s new album for free front and center on its homepage. The user is offered the album, videos, merch and MySpace links.
In the first 24 hours after the posting, The Pirate Bay claims the album was downloaded over 100,000 times. Hey, that’s likely about 90,000 more than the last albums by fellow glamsters White Lion, Britny Fox, Steelheart or Tigertailz! Combined!

Back in August, when TheFeed reported on the Piss-Screen urine stream-powered racing videogame, we knew that, like many great inventions, scientific breakthroughs, and advancements in Mankind’s yet nascent knowledge of the universe, it would inevitably be met with derision and scorn by a world far too unwilling to evolve and face the strange changes.
Well, it took a few months, but Belgian police have cracked down on this Galileo of the gaming age, banning a version of the game entitled Place To Pee from the GamePower Expo in Gent, Belgium. It seems the Flemish flatfoots consider the game, which allows players to control the direction of their on-screen cars by aiming their streams of liquid waste at a censor placed in a urinal, an “indecency offense.”

TV is currently up in the air because of the writer's strike, but what happens if all our favorite shows go away early or never show up at all?
TechCrunch thinks it could lead to a lot more viral content and increase viewership of user-generated content on the Internet.
What do you think, TheFeed reader? If your favorite show goes off the air, will you turn to YouTube and Break for your entertainment?
Or will you just play more videogames?

Clive Thompson has had an epiphany on why people become terrorists: when faced up against a deadly force that you have no way of defeating (in Halo 3), you turn to suicide bombing.
Wait? What?
"I do not mean, of course, to trivialize the ghastly, horrific impact of real-life suicide bombing. Nor do I mean to gloss over the incredible complexity of the real-life personal, geopolitical and spiritual reasons why suicide bombers are willing to kill themselves. These are all impossibly more nuanced and perverse than what's happening inside a trifling, low-stakes videogame."

You should go to Gaming Today and check out their exclusive interview with Joe Falke, the Lead Designer on Clive Barker's Jericho, about the art design for the game. Joe talks about the inspiration for the very scary design, and also tells us where it comes from.
It's a pretty good talk with Falke, and there's pictures, too! Now, doesn't that seem like the kind of thing you're going to love to read about? We certainly thought so, which is why we're writing this.
Think of it as a public service.

Well, ZeniMax Media and Bethesda Softworks are rumored to be hashing out an Elder Scrolls MMORPG. The rumor mill got a-turning after someone noticed the URL for elderscrollsonline.com was registered by ZeniMax very recently. This doesn’t mean much really. I mean, just yesterday TheFeed bought AlamoMMOonline.net just so that we could say we had it.
If this rumor is true, we’re a little worried about losing the great narrative threads that made Elder Scrolls so good, so that Bethesda could for that alluring but soon to be cut-short MMO dollar. Some games are great at certain things and for a company that has staked it’s claim on a certain style and somewhat blazed a path in that arena, to switch it up is risky.
If we can ever get out of R & D on AlamoMMOonline.net, or AMMO as it’s known around the office, you can bet we’ll stick with what makes this first franchise famous – great cut scenes of famous rock and roll musicians peeing on the Alamo walls.

According to the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, college students that mix alcohol with caffeinated energy drinks are at higher risk for alcohol-related injuries than students who…er, don’t drink that crap.
Researchers found students who drank the energy drinks were twice as likely to be hurt or injured, twice as likely to require medical attention, and twice as likely to ride with an intoxicated driver. But they also found that students who drank alcohol mixed with energy drinks were more than twice as likely to take advantage of someone else sexually, and almost twice as likely to be taken advantage of.
Well, duh!
