Activision, having left the ESA, decided to hold a completely non-E3 related press conference a mile away from the Los Angeles Convention Center. Remember, this has nothing to do with E3… nice try, Activision. It’s an E3 press conference.
It was held at an old church in downtown LA that has been converted into an open-bar sporting, catered affair. If there’s one thing gaming journalists like it’s sushi and free booze, especially after a 12-hour day at E3.
What’s in store for us? As we heard from Activision’s representatives at Microsoft’s press conference, they are very excited about Guitar Hero: World Tour. At Sony’s press conference, they talked up Call of Duty: World at War. Will we hear anything about the recently approved merger with Vivendi & Blizzard to create Activision Blizzard?
Will Blizzard use this event to announce or talk about anything or are they content to stay quiet until Blizzcon 2008 in October?
Hit the jump for everything Activision.

Harmonix VP Greg Lopiccolo stopped by our E3 2008 stage to give Adam and Morgan an exclusive hands-on demo of 'Rock Band 2.' If you've been living under a rock and/ or are still living under a rock (presumably one with a high-speed internet connection), Rock Band is a multiplayer music and rockstar simulation extravanza. No game before or after has gone better with excessive drinking, and its arguably the best and most inclusive party game ever made.
Stick around after the demo for a performance by Kevin, Morgan, Adam and Olivia.

Chris Hardwick took to the E3 2008 show floor to bring you this hard hitting, near-in-depth report on Midway's 'This is Vegas', due for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2009. Midway has cramed all of the confused, drunken has-anybody-seen-my-pants madness into a next-gen videogame. God bless America.
At one point Chris says "...Vegas to me just smells like poop and sadness." If that doesn't make you want to check out the video, we can't help you anymore.

Perhaps you didn't catch our live (and now archived) stream of the EA press conference. Maybe you're too lazy to have read the live blog coverage. That's fine. Pretty-boy Blair Herter is here to show off his fancy new wardrobe AND give you the short-form rundown on the EA Press Conference. Enjoy.

In case you missed it in G4's GIGANTIC E3 2008 Day 1 coverage, Adam Sessler brought us a broadcast premiere hands on demo of 'Red Faction: Guerilla,' an awesome looking sci-fi action-shooter from THQ.
Look for it (probably) next year for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
