How did Apple get the iPhone down to $199, while adding 3G and GPS? They changed their business model with carriers.
Carriers will now give Apple a subsidy instead of a monthly cut of the plan. This means that providers like AT&T will pay more upfront to Apple, but get all of the monthly fees from their customers.
They've also raised the price of the data plan from $20 to $30 a month.

After several grueling weeks of beta gameplay and bug squashing, the full G4 Ninja Warrior Flash game is ready for your enjoyment and self-torture. All four stages are live, along with full leaderboards and more.
Just like the real thing, our Ninja Warrior game is HARD. Do not expect to pass it on your first try. Real ninjas never give up (unless there are pirates around), so neither should you.
Have fun.

[UPDATE]: If you were experiencing the "disappearing obstacle" bug on stage three, clear your browser cache and try it again. We've updated the game around 1:30 this morning (ET).

The latest issue of GamePro magazine has some details on upcoming real-time strategy title Halo Wars. According to the magazine:
- Two-player online cooperative play for Halo Wars' story-driven campaign mode has been confirmed.
- It's expected to support six players in multiplayer matchups over Xbox Live.
- Only one "resource" must be collected, as opposed to many RTS games. This is meant to streamline the collecting phase of the game so players can focus on the combat.
"The economy is simple but meaningful," Ensemble designer Dav Pottinger told GamePro. "All the big strategy decisions remain, but the game style is more adrenaline-filled."
Halo Wars is expected to come out later this year for the 360 only.

On the day a new iPhone is announced, you'd think Apple's stock would soar into the stratosphere, but instead, the computer giant's shares tanked.
As of the closing of the market today, Apple's stock was down $4.03, or 2.2 percent, to $181.61. In the past year, the stock has traded between $111.62 and $202.96.
Although industry analysts, pundits and poor people applaud the lowering of the iPhone's price point to $199, the stock did not respond with exuberance. Some think the falling stock price is because analysts were expecting a surprise that did not come at Apple's WWDC conference.
"There probably were investors that were hoping for some additional announcements, such as, perhaps, an update to (Apple's laptop line) or others," RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky said.
