Audiences Flee 'Postal'

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Monday, June 02, 2008 4:16 PM

According to nj.com about 200 people walked out of a free screening of Uwe Boll's Postal in Hoboken. Ouch!

Among the offended parties:  Mat Levy, who you know as "Cheezy" on season two of VH1's celebrity dating show "I Love New York."

"I did not like Uwe Boll's perception of 9/11," Levy said.

"It's too soon to mock a plane going into the World Trade Center. Do you not think there are families out there that had their loved ones killed on 9/11? It really upsets me that he couldn't care less."

Winehouse Signs Controller

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Monday, June 02, 2008 3:10 PM

I don't care that Amy Winehouse seems like a drug-addled wreck. All you need to do is listen to her music and you'd know she's much cooler than you and anyone else you know.

Anyway, she signed a dude's Donkey Konga controller for some reason, making that Konga controller the greatest peripheral in videogame history.

Wii Ware Has Around 100 Games on the Way

Posted by Ty Colfax - Monday, June 02, 2008 3:03 PM

Head on over to your neighborhood friendly IGN link to see an interview they did with Tom Prata, the Senior Director of Project Development for Nintendo of America.

It unearths some truths about what WiiWare is going to bring and when it's all going down. Apparently, there's around 100 games in various stages of completion in a Wii Ware release queue. There's got to be some gems in there. Should be nice.

Ubisoft Reveals Warchest

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Monday, June 02, 2008 2:43 PM

Ubisoft has over a billion dollars burring a hole in its pocket. The French game publisher might buy your house and make you pay rent, or maybe they'll hire Van Halen to play their birthday party.

Well, that's what we would do with that kind of money, anyway. Ubi, on the other hand, insists on using their $1.2 billion warchest to "acquire new studios and companies to further grow Ubisoft’s business and move into other markets." Boring!

Look for Ubisoft to snap up other game developers soon, and for merger mania to continue.
