Iron Man is definitely going to be a huge hit, but where do we stand on a powered exoskeleton in the real world? Researchers at Raytheon Sarcos are developing the XOS Exoskeleton that could create a real world Iron Man.
This exoskeleton works by sensing the wearer's desired movement and mimicking the action, like a shadow. It requires a power source, but can make lifting 200 pounds feel like it's only 10.
The benefits of a fully functional exoskeleton would be incredibly numerous with applications in the military, rescue work, construction, and more.
Hit the break for an interview with Marvel as well as Steve Jacobsen, the creator of the XOS.

In perusing the first print review of Grand Theft Auto 4 (From the U.K's Official Xbox Magazine) we came across the following bit of interesting game mechanics: (Mild mechanicsSPOILER)
Apparently, GTA 4 will feature a working, in-game internet, with mission related emails and websites, but also featuring browsing of non-mission specific content including news, dating sites, and spam email.
Also, the magazine gave it a 10 of 10 and said it was the best open-world game ever made.

The Head Honcho for XNA, Chris Satchell (not pictured above,) spoke with Eurogamer recently, noting that the touch-screen gaming is progressing nicely for the Zune. "Imagine bowling, where you swing across it, or anything that requires a physical dexterity gesture," Satchell said. Someone even ported a "Wolfenstein-style renderer" to their Zune, which ran it at 30 frames-per-second.
He went on to say he is "really looking forward to people using their networking ability to use peer-to-peer games," and that he's "sure we're going to see some peer-to-peer race games, kart-style games - those are going to be fun."
We likely won't see any of this until the next XNA development kit is released which might happen before the end of 2008. We also likely won't own a Zune by then either.

A rating for a new DS game called Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia has appeared on the ESRB's website. This pretty much means you can expect a new Castlevania game on the DS.
This is not that surprising considering that the games are very successful and well received on Nintendo's handheld.

Hot on the heels of buying music blog Stereogum, music-based social network site Buzznet is buying competing music blog Idolator.
Yes, Buzznet is making lotsa big moves after scoring $25 million in new funding, reportedly contributed in part by Universal Music Group's Interscope Records.
Idolator is part of the Gawker network of blogs, including travely site Gridskipper and political –minded Wonkette.
"Music audiences are fragmented across genre," says Gawker chief Nick Denton. "Idolator gave Stereogum a good run, but a group with a whole array of music sites will command more attention from record labels than we could."

Today Blockbuster offered to buy Circuit City Stores for at least $6.00 per share in cash.
But they didn’t make the offer via a stealthy series of secret meetings. They made it in public, via a press release distributed widely.
Say Blockbuster: “Unfortunately, Circuit City has failed to provide due diligence necessary to allow Blockbuster to make a definitive proposal. Blockbuster is making its proposal public because it believes the shareholders of Circuit City should have the opportunity to participate in determining the destiny of the company. In addition, as Blockbuster has other strategic opportunities, its offer is conditioned upon timely commencement of the due diligence process.”
Damn. They are kinda calling out Circuit City asa bunch of broke losers, aren’t they?

J.K. Rowling has nothing against fans of Harry Potter, and people who establish Potter fan sites, but she wants those who are egregiously stealing her intellectual property to stop, and is testifying in court to that effect. The writers of the Harry Potter Lexicon have published a book, which is contrary to the laws of such lexicons, which are customarily extensions of the writer's work, and not new works of fiction.
Rowling thinks, in this case, that it's not the same thing, and she's suing them to show she means business. Of course, we know she means business...she's the queen of the book business these days, and is surely creeping up on being a billionaire.

Hey, Mr. Nosy: Are you curious what game developers earn per year?
According to a survey conducted by Game Developer magazine, the average annual salary of a developer was $73,600 in 2007.
With that kind of money, you could by like 15 cans of Mountain Dew!

T-Mobile still doesn't have 3G up and running, but it hopes that a new strategy will help it catch up with the other carriers. With AT&T and Verizon heading for 4G using their new 700Mhz spectrum and Sprint betting on WiMax, T-Mobile is in danger of being left behind.
Their solution? A 3G network that also uses Wi-Fi hotspots to boost downloads and uploads primarily in the home.
That's cool and all, but what about those times when Wi-Fi isn't, you know, available? At that point, this is still just 3G and T-Mobile is still lagging behind the curve.
They are, however, considering rolling out citywide Wi-Fi in major markets, but we don't that will happen.
