Yes, that's right. Mr. Downey will be playing the first major action role of his career, and, if it works out, it puts all of Hollywood on notice that you can make a major shambles out of your life, and then come all the way back to the "A" list, with a little work.
Are you listening Scott Weiland? Sean Young? There's hope for you yet.
Iron Man is set for release in May, 2008. Seriously, kudos to Robert Downey for the casting, and kudos to Favreau for taking a chance on a controversial, but excellent, actor.
