Blizzards Reveals New Diablo III Details

Learn how to truely take advantage of the blacksmith and jewelcrafter in Diablo 3 when you check out our guide on crafting. If you find the grind a little grinding or just want the finest loot right now, it's time that you turned to your favorite artisans and start putting them to work for you. Stop trying to wait for that special drop. Become a patron of the arts and reap the rewards of some of the best weapons in the game.

First thing's first: To say you'll be crafting items in Diablo 3 is a bit of a fallacy. Instead, you as the Hero will return Magic, Rare, or Legendary gear that you want stripped down to its components to one of two Artisans. You'll meet one of these Artisans, Haedrig the Blacksmith in Act I. The other Artisan, Covetous Shen the Jeweler, will be met in Act II.

Apparently only Shen wears his personality type on his sleeve, while Haedrig remains a mystery -a sexy, bearded mystery.

Diablo 3 Preview - New Traits System, Revamped Runes, Skill Shuffle, and the Talisman!

We've put together this Diablo 3 Monk guide to get you up to speed on the hardest hitting devout class in Blizzard's action role playing game. This handy guide gives you all the most important info on the Monk from Diablo 3 at a glance.

You Should Play A Monk If: If you love being in the heat of battle and dealing a ton of damage very fast while also having the versatility to help out your party members, then the Monk would be the perfect fit for you. Monks are a melee class that move fast and deal extreme damage faster. With palm strikes, crescent kicks, and high maneuverability, the Monk is for those who want to do damage and then get out of the fight as fast as possible, as they can't sustain as much damage as they can dish out.

Background: Monks are brand new to the Diablo universe but they seem like a crossover of Diablo 2's Assassin, Paladin, and Barbarian classes. Yes I know there were Monks in the Diablo Hellfire expansion, but Blizzard has said that the Diablo 3 Monk has no relation to the original one in the first expansion, so this is a brand new class. These sacred warriors can channel the divine power of the Sahptev faith and use healing waves, mantras of protection, and attacks empowered with holy might. Through their training, Monks learn "skills that allow them to master both unarmed combat and a diverse array of weapons."

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier First Look Preview

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Release Date: May 22, 2012

Explosions are awesome. We can pretty much all agree on that, right? But sometimes we need to take step back, slow things down a bit, and really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making the perfect military operation. Future Soldier may not be handing out destruction on the scale of Modern Warfare 3, but our hearts get pumping and we hold our breath just as much whenever we see more of this return to Tom Clancy's pseudo, not-quite-sci-fi military shooter franchise.

With controls that remove that pesky stiffness so indicative of the current console generation's first wave of titles, plus an emphasis on teamwork and coordination, we're ready to believe again. Not just in the Tom Clancy brand, not just in military shooters, but also in the ability of strangers to work together over the Internet to reach a common goal. You know, as opposed to them screaming profanities so vulgar they'd make Tarantino blush.

Besides, have you seen that video of Future Soldier with Kinect? Hey Minority Report, the future is now!

EVE Online Micro-Transactions Causing Macro Headache For Players

EVE Online loves its expansions, doesn't it? With Incarna, they introduced the character creator system so ripe for monocle controversy, and with Crucible, they won back just about every concerned player by focusing more on combat and those beautiful, beautiful spaceships. Well now, Inferno is on its way, and if you wanted to know just what was coming from this next expansion, read on!

First of all, Inferno will continue CCP Games' focus on the ships and combat of EVE Online. No monocles to see here, folks. At the CCP keynote at Fanfest 2012, CEO of CCP Games, Hilmar Veigar repeatedly apologized for the company's failure to include the player base in its decisions, which led to 2011's troublesome year. Part of the re-focusing efforts of this year included hiring of Jon Lander, new Senior Producer of EVE Online.

In his presentation, Lander outlined several key points to the coming expansion:

Dust 514

DUST 514 for the PS3 and EVE Online for the PC are connected in several integral, compelling ways. For one, they share a universe and server. Second, they share currency which can be traded between games and even be used to trade up for real world gifts such as extended play time or even an Nvidia graphics card. Third, and coolest of all, you'll be able to call in an orbital strike in DUST from a player on EVE.

Now with all those sorts of connecting features, you'd think DUST 514 might be left in the cold in regards to its own development, right? Wrong. Straight from the CCP keynote at the 2012 CCP Fanfest in Iceland, here are some things DUST 514 players can expect to see come their way, post-release from developer CCP:

Dust 514 Closed Beta Sign-ups Open To EVE Online Players

CCP Games announced Friday, March 23 that players will, for at least a limited amount of time, be able to purchase an Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 for 20 PLEX, an in-game item. I've written on EVE's currency system before and it can be confusing for outsiders – heck, it's confusing for me sometimes! – so let me break it down a little bit for those not in the know:

In EVE Online, you can mine, pirate, take contracts, and otherwise earn an in-game currency abbreviated as ISK. The value of ISK can fluctuate wildly depending on supply and demand, as well as factors like war, control of resources, etc. But in any case, ISK can be used to purchase a Pilot's License Extension, otherwise known as PLEX.

SWTOR Companions Guide -– Keeping You Warm And Safe With Info on Every Companion in The Old Republic

From flesh-consuming monsters to adorable droids, we know you want to eat up every morsel of information about every companion in Star Wars: The Old Republic. After all, it just wouldn't be a BioWare game without friends to gather along the way, and SWTOR is very much a BioWare game. That's why we've produced this handy companion guide, so you'll know who all The Old Republic companions are and what they can do for you.

In SW:TOR, companions complement – and sometimes compliment! – your character's strengths and fill in the soft spots left by their weaknesses. They may seem extraneous at first, but try playing the game truly solo, sans companion, and you'll come to appreciate their incredibly useful implementation. They not only come in handy gameplay-wise, but also fill out the story experience by giving their thoughts, approval, and/or disapproval to your actions. Meaning, that's right... companion gifts!

Companions are also unique to each class, so our guide is broken down as such. Be sure to check below and find your class!

SWTOR Datacron Location Guide – I Have All The Datacron Locations In Seventeen Systems!

We've crafted this handy dandy datacron locations guide for the Republic and Empire alike, so you can find all datacrons in BioWare's epic Star Wars MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Never heard of datacrons? Read on to find out what they are, how you can find them, and why you'll want them.

SW:TOR takes place 300 years after the original Knights of the Old Republic, which introduced the concept of the Infinite Empire, a vast governing system ruled by the earliest known Force users, the Rakata. The Infinite Empire collapsed under mysterious circumstances, but it has left behind a wealth of treasure for eager adventurers. These are the datacrons.

Datacrons increase your character's stats, making them invaluable to PvP players, while also easing the burdens of those who choose to solo. The exceptions are the Matrix Shards, which when combined will form a Matrix Cube, an item that can be slotted into your character's Relic slot. These provide even more powerful stat boosts, but must be assembled in correct order. All Matrix Shard combinations are explained in our SWTOR Matrix Cube Guide.

Also note that Corellia's, Ilum's and Voss' datacrons are currently missing or have not been discovered by our team of space-traveling badasses. There are also two ultra rare datacrons that increase all of your character's stats by 10. We'll update this guide as we find them!

So pack a lunch, player. Let's go planet-hopping in a galaxy far, far away to find every datacron location in The Old Republic!

Star Wars: The Old Republic Imperial Agent Guide -– Many Bothans Died (At Your Hands) To Bring You This Guide

It is a time of uneasy tension between the Empire and Republic in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The Sith hold tight to their perverse code and bounty hunters, while largely siding with the Empire, do not always count themselves among the loyal. And Imperial troops, while functional, are also largely seen as cannon fodder; something the Emperor can send toward an obstacle when he wishes a battle of attrition. The skill within the Empire's military is sadly... lacking. That's where you, and this guide come in, Agent.

You Should Play An Imperial Agent If: If you ever thought James Bond was cool, but also thought wouldn't it be awesome if he was also an evil prick, then this is the class for you. Like the Republic's Smuggler class, this is also a tactical shooter role, one that feels quite different from the rest of Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's also quite different in that the Imperial Agent is the only class without a standout reference character from the films.

The Agent is a versatile little class that can pretty much be whatever you'd like it to be: healer, de-buffer, DPS, etc. The only caveat is that like the Smuggler, it's a bit more complex in how abilities function. You'll want to be conscious of your surroundings, looking for cover, analyzing enemy groups, and memorizing key cycles. Even positioning will be play a large role with this class.

Background: The Agent is the Empire's secret weapon. Everyone knows and fears the Sith Warriors and Sith Inquisitors, but only a select handful even within the Empire know just what the Agent is truly capable of. As a master marksman and spy, the Agent approaches no situation unprepared, eager and ready to sabotage, forge, and murder his way up the Imperial ranks.

The Agent has no scruples, no weakness he won't exploit. The tasks handed to him are of the utmost secrecy, and so his loyalty to the Empire must likewise be steadfast in determination. Still, so long as the Agent does his job well, no one will ever know he was there. That hutt found gargling, choked to death on a fried k'lorr slug larva? Agent did that. That Republic councilor who mysteriously disappeared? Agent. The Imperial starship officer caught in an impenetrable Republic prison who died before he could give up any information? I think you know who.

The Agent is not a glory-hound. He does not often find himself at the forefront of any battle, choosing instead to play the cards and strategies at his disposal while staying hidden from his enemies and from history. Few will know your victories, Agent. Fewer still will honor them. But you are at the top of the military for a reason, and your efforts are needed.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Bounty Hunter Guide -– Congratulations, Your Backpack's Got Jets

Oh, the moral quandaries that come with roleplaying in Star Wars: The Old Republic as a laser-sword-wielding monk fighting a holy war against other laser-sword-wielding monks. But wait, who is this that strolls onto the battlefield, her armor almost ritualistically carved and seared from the scars of battle? Her wrist-rockets blast apart the surroundings and those with any rational sense left in them flee in terror lest they be set on fire. Who is she? The mother-bleeping Bounty Hunter.

You Should Play A Bounty Hunter If:
The Bounty Hunter is Star Wars: The Old Republic's own vision of the honey badger: she absolutely does not give a... well, let's keep this somewhat family friendly, shall we? The Bounty Hunter is the Imperial counterpart to the Republic Trooper, but unlike the Sith Warrior/Jedi Knight and Sith Inquisitor/Jedi Consular, this isn't quite a mirror image reflection on the part of the Empire.

Like most classes, there are options within the Bounty Hunter's progression for each aspect of the MMO holy trinity: healer spec, tank, and DPS. That being said, the Bounty Hunter lends itself best to the tank and ranged DPS roles, so if you want to be the go-to warrior for such talents, this may be your class.

Background: The Bounty Hunter is a loner who typically has only one thought on her mind: the job. Well, that and all the excitement, fame, credits and groupies that come along with said job. In The Old Republic's story, she'll group up with some like-minded hunters seeking big-time glory in the battle arena. What they'll discover together is a galaxy in turmoil, with immense decisions to make and broad, sweeping power placed squarely in their hands.

Sometimes a Bounty Hunter will need to track a target across varied worlds and multiple star systems. Sometimes she will need to stand against great and ferocious beasts. Sometimes she will even go toe-to-toe with a Jedi or Sith. This means the Bounty Hunter will come to battle with all possible bases covered, and an exit plan always in tow.

The Bounty Hunter is not someone concerned with honor or a specific way of doing things. She will use every possible advantage she can, even if it means playing dirty or fitting her tech with black market hardware. She's not technically part of the Empire, but they've got the credits, so that's where she works. For now.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Sith Inquisitor Guide: Oh, I'm Afraid This Class Guide Will Be Quite Operational

So we've given you a taste of the Dark Side with our Sith Warrior class guide for Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's whetted your appetite. The way of the Sith calls to you. Good. Good. Then take this class guide. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger and make the cycle complete. It is your destiny. For you are the Sith Inquisitor!

You Should Play A Sith Inquisitor If: If you have ever folded your hands in classic evil mastermind position and laughed the day away, practicing until you have that maniacal twist to your words just right. Your favorite words are “dark,” “side,” and “complete,” the latter most being pronounced “kohm-plee-tuh.” If you love everything there is to playing bad and want one of the most flavorful stories, the Sith Inquisitor is your class.

Background: Everything is transpiring as you have foreseen. Those before you tremble in awe at the strength of the Dark Side coursing through you. The armor and musculature of the Sith Warrior is not your way. After all, the power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force. You do not put yourself in harm's immediate vicinity, choosing instead to strike from afar with lightning and tricks which cloud the feeble mind.

The Sith Inquisitor is unique in that it is the only class which truly sees some character advancement from the lowliest of the low to the highest of the high. The Sith Warrior may be the Empire's right hand, wielding the crimson blades as pillars of Imperial might, but it's the Inquisitor's plans that sent them there. As the mastermind behind everything great and glorious in the Imperial army, it's surprising to know that by playing an Inquisitor, you actually begin as...

Well, we'll avoid spoilers for now. Just know that the Inquisitor is a schemer; a maniacal madwoman who sees those before her not necessarily as enemy or friend, but as pawns to move about as she sees fit, all the while advancing her own goals. A strong and resistant character in battle she is not, but from afar she wreaks unspeakable amounts of damage.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Sith Warrior Guide -- You Don't Know The Power Of The Dark Side... But You Can!

So you're gearing up for the Star Wars: The Old Republic release date, pouring over which class will suit your style.  You've always wanted to wield a blade of searing light that goes vvvoowwmmm, wammm because hey, who hasn't? But the Jedi Knight? That's not the path for you. You're too hardened, too independent for ancient codes and nonsense about honor. You want to be the biggest and the baddest, a symbol of fear and power as much as you are a player. You, my friend, want to be a Sith Warrior.

You Should Play A Sith Warrior If: If Darth Vader was your hero and icon you looked up to as you grew up, you'll fit right in with the Sith Warrior. And a heavy-handed family therapist. But we're not here to judge. Like its Republic counterpart the Jedi Knight, the Sith Warrior is the first to leap into battle, lightsaber flashing across the bodies of his foes as they fall all around him.

Although the Rule of Two wouldn't be instituted until much later amongst the Sith, it's still helpful for figuring out where the Sith Warrior falls in with the Empire's grand scheme; a proper analogy would be to see Darth Vader as the Sith Warrior and his master, Darth Sidious, as the Sith Inquisitor. The latter may make the cunning and devious plan, but the Sith Warrior is the arm that accomplishes the Sith vision.

Background: The Sith Warrior is a fearless, ruthless and unyielding force of destruction. For levels 1-10 he is an ambitious student at the Sith Academy on Korriban, eager to please the Dark Lords who oversee his progress. Student rivalry is prominent and so the Sith Warrior in SW:TOR is one who has been groomed to seek out and destroy all who oppose him, even if he has to go out of his way to do so. After all, a Sith Warrior with nothing to destroy is like a Yoda who talks normal; it just doesn't satisfy.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Smuggler Guide -- Hokey Religions And Ancient Weapons Are No Match For A Good Class Guide At Your Side, Kid

Star Wars: The Old Republic
has plenty of classes up its sleeve, but with our SW: TOR Smuggler guide you'll be tumbling, dodging, and pulling some fancy blaster moves all the way across the galaxy in no time. But if stylish fighting and fast talking aren't your thing, be sure to check out our other guides on the Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, and Trooper to find a class that fits your style.

You Should Play A Smuggler If: If Han Solo makes his charming way into your dreams every night as the handsome rogue with a heart of gold – though he'd never admit it! – then the Smuggler is the Old Republic class for you. If you're afraid of getting caught up in a hack 'n' slash grind with the Jedi class and Trooper lacks that certain...something, then the Smuggler is calling for you to pick up those blasters.

The Smuggler is a DPS and debuff machine, as well as a viable healer, and her slightly skewed attitudes toward right and wrong make her analogous to a World of Warcraft Rogue. However, this class plays unlike anything I've played in an MMO, and is probably one of the most complex classes in The Old Republic.

Background: The Smuggler is not exactly a team player. At least not at first. Sure, she has contacts and deals across systems, planets, species... but a beacon of friendliness and group hugs she is not. Alliances are fine; friendship is rare, and in this business, dangerous. You'll be getting a lot more up close and personal as a Smuggler to the scum and villainy of the galaxy, often working the angles to get what you want while leaving those unfortunate enough to be in your way settled nicely into the dust.

The Smuggler is a dextrous little combatant, rolling across the battlefield to take cover and firing at enemies from a distance. She's not very hardy, so she won't be one to stand in the middle of a fight with her hide clearly exposed. Her wisecracks and eagerness to stride headlong into the proverbial asteroid field belie her true nature as an intelligent tactician. Keep up her mental stats while focusing on dexterity to keep her smuggling days bright and sunny.
