I love G4 for advertising this. I would have missed out on this awesome tourney. I love fighting games and the things these guys can do were top notch. I pretty much watched the entire stream off and on. I was disappointed that the stream kept cutting out at the worse time especially in the finals but thats technology. Id bet if G4 controlled it would have been much better. I would recommend removing the chat or at least making a way to turn it off. That chat was filled with some...

They actually did work on ufc and ea.. but were limited do to license..of the brands .. and decided to do there own thing with this game.. can't wait to play it... I just don't wanna see it be compared to the other titles because that's not what they are really going for.. I hope the put out a really good demo .. because that and promoting the game is what sells.. ea promoted the game very well.. but the demo was trash ..and lost out on a lot.. and for big fighters making a difference .. yea ...

This game looks incredible but unoriginal. Basically World of Warcraft 2... As for cost, $50 for the game and $15 monthly.

TheFeed's Mostly Meaningless World Cup Final Predictions

Did you know that in the times of the Holy Roman Empire, as presided over by Charles V of Spain, the Netherlands was under Spanish rule? It wasn’t until 1581 that the seventeen provinces of the Netherlands region declared their independence under the Act of Abjuration, and then it wasn’t until 1648 when King Philip IV officially acknowledged it. What does this all mean?

It’s time to predict the World Cup Final.

Just like we did with the Super Bowl of American Throwball earlier this year, we’re referring to our Predictive Sciences and Intermediate Astrology (Fifth Ed.) textbooks in an effort to choose the winner of Sunday’s big game of NED vs. ESP. Soccer/Football/Himalayan Horseshoes is a complex sport, and many factors need to be seriously considered: tactical formations, first touch ability, stamina, maths, the attractive qualities of players’ significant others, and of course, cheese.

The winner of each category receives one point, and the final score will be converted to a result that can realistically happen in a soccer game.

Let’s begin.

(Entries by Andrew Pfister and Sterling McGarvey)

1. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

The first task is to see which country is superior on the field. For that, we’ll use EA’s 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa game. But instead of wussing out and simulating it, Andrew and Sterling played out the game in real-time, which ended up being about 17 minutes.

As someone who has been writing video game reviews for the last 10 years, I've always wondered the effect my (and my colleagues') words have had on the readers. A new study from the EEDAR group (Electronic Entertainment Research and Design) this week confirms that reviews do actually have an effect on opinions...but it's not our self-validation that's important here. What matters is that you guys spread the word about whether a game is good or bad. We brought in EEDAR President & COO Geoffrey Zatkin to explain the results of the study, why reviewer trust is important, and whether or not a game should have a playable demo.

Feedback -- May NPD Results & The Effects of Reviews »

Other subjects for Feedback study:

  • The May NPDs came out last week, and while everything was more or less down, Red Dead Redemption was up in a big way.
  • Is the end of summer the secret sweet spot for a potential sleeper hit? Batman: Arkham Asylum and Borderlands would argue that it might be...
  • Xbox Live's Stephen Tolouse recently said that hardcore gamers have more or less been wrong for the last decade of gaming. Does that mean Kinect is going to be a success? And if so, is it up to Dance Central to convince the rest of us?

Feedback: Disqualifying ourselves from scientific research since 2009. Next week, Crackdown 2.

The AUDIO MP3 of this episode of FEEDBACK is available here: Right-click and Save.

Thumbs up if you think Abbie Heppe is hott and hilarious. I watch all the feedbacks with her in it (and Leah Jackman) but Adam is also equally funny and these shows are really informative. Finally a talk show I can listen to. Thanks G4. (p.s. show less Cheaters and Cops and more X-Play.)

Morning Hangover #71 -- Andrew Looks For Feedback, Patrick Has TV Envy

This week, we'll be joined in the studio by a special guest to be named later and the topic will be game reviews. We're looking for your questions and thoughts concerning what you look for in game reviews, and whether or not you find them useful in your purchasing decisions. Fire away in the comments below!

I really like the Escapist's Zero Punctuation reviews. In his show, he doesn't give games scores or grades. Instead, he takes five minutes to explain the game. Have you ever thought about reviewing games without scores? I think its better for the consumers because scores can be misleading and people usually just pay attention to the score and blow off most of the actual review.
