A Tempe, AZ man who had planned a shooting spree at last weekend’s Super Bowl in Glendale, AZ is in custody under suspicion of mailing threatening communications following the alleged dispersal of his 8-page manifesto to media outlets.

Kurt Havelock, upset at having been denied a liquor license for his bar, “Drunkenstein’s” (we can see where that might pose a problem), revealed in his manifesto that he targeted the Super Bowl in order to “shed the blood of the innocent.” That’s after he decided that his original target, the Desert Ridge Marketplace, was unsuitable because it’s too near Scottsdale, which Havelock described as being full of “scum and villainy.”

By now, most gamers have become familiar with Zero Punctuation, the piquant musings of Oz-based developer, Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, concerning the biggest videogame titles currently embedded in the gaming public’s collective consciousness. We here at G4TV eagerly fire up and gather around our steam-powered internets machine every Wednesday so as to be sure not to miss the latest entry in the delightful series when it premieres at The Escapist. We call it Ze-Pu for short, because we work in Hollywood.

Our fellow bloggers at Boing Boing share our appreciation for Yahtzee’s take-no-prisoners style, having engaged the English ex-pat in an informative interview about the process behind creating his (in)famous reviews.

Remember? For many of us, that was the first we’d heard of the supplement and it’s peculiar side effect – colloidal silver can eventually and irreversibly turn the skin an ashen gray or blue, a condition known as Argyria.

What would a Yule be without stories of everyone’s favorite jolly old Christmas mascot suffering an onslaught of verbal, physical and sexual assaults? Well, a joyous time of peace and love to all mankind, really. But since that’s not the case, TheFeed presents this very special holiday report: Santas Under Attack ’07 Live!

City of OMG!!! – In Rio de Janeiro, an actor dressed as Santa Claus almost didn’t make his scheduled appearance at a Christmas party to deliver presents to children when the helicopter he was traveling in came under fire from local drug gangs. It’s believed that the Grinch-ish Li’l Ze’s and Knockout Neds assumed that the chopper was a police vehicle and opened fire.

While it’s not well-publicized, TheFeed - in addition to being your source for the only news you need to know - moonlights as a fly-by-night crime lab. We’ve got black lights and everything!

Recently, an intrepid journalist by the name of Peter Stack sent us a bunch of evidence and police paperwork concerning a couple of criminals named Kane and Lynch. So, we headed on down to our makeshift forensics lab on the old Arena set and eagerly ripped into the materials and set out to solve us some crimes.

Back in August, when TheFeed reported on the Piss-Screen urine stream-powered racing videogame, we knew that, like many great inventions, scientific breakthroughs, and advancements in Mankind’s yet nascent knowledge of the universe, it would inevitably be met with derision and scorn by a world far too unwilling to evolve and face the strange changes.

Well, it took a few months, but Belgian police have cracked down on this Galileo of the gaming age, banning a version of the game entitled Place To Pee from the GamePower Expo in Gent, Belgium. It seems the Flemish flatfoots consider the game, which allows players to control the direction of their on-screen cars by aiming their streams of liquid waste at a censor placed in a urinal, an “indecency offense.”

This season’s Family Guy episode spoofing Star Wars was such a huge, rip-roaring, TIE-fighting, X-Winging, power converter picking-upping, Death Star-destroying success that the show's creative team is planning on following it up with a The Empire Strikes Back episode.

Actor Mila Kunis, who voices Meg Griffin on the show, and Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, recently confirmed to IESB that a script for the episode is complete and that the episode will happen.

Not much has been revealed about the episode, but all you really need to know is this:

For the longest time, TheFeed operated under the false impression that Eternal Sonata was a racing game wherein you play as He-Man and drive around your home planet of Eternia in a sporty, yet affordable, Hyundai Sonata. Then someone told us that it was a Japanese Role Playing Game based on classical composer Frederic Chopin and we immediately lost interest.

It’s clear that some people like the game, however, as it ultimately will see a multiplatform release. While the game has been available for a while on the Xbox 360, it won’t make its way to the PlayStation 3 until sometime next year, but when it does, it will feature content not available in the already released version.

Hey TheFeed readers, remember last week when we reported that a handful of churches across the country had begun holding Halo nights in an attempt to increase their haul of the highly-sought-after teen male soul? Well, the backlash from concerned parishioners is still going strong and makes for fantastic fodder for the morning TV “news” shows.

As reported by GamePolitics, earlier this week on That’s My Bagel! with Scooter and Ju-Ju, or some such tripe, psychologist Dr. Susan Bartell made the argument that the teenage brain is negatively affected by violent videogames. She backed up her claim by citing a study out of Indiana University, complete with a side-by-side brain scan comparison. Here’s the segment:

Years of apprenticing as the straight man to the unintentional comic genius that is Tim McCarver have apparently convinced the brass at the Fox network that its lead MLB and NFL play-by-play man, Joe Buck, is just the man to captain its ship into the contentious waters of late night television.

Buck and Saturday Night Live veteran Matt Piedmont, who previously teamed on bud.tv’s The Joe Buck Show, have produced a comedy/talk show pilot for Fox which, according to Buck, will feature, “a little bit of everything, from sketch comedy to interviews.”

It would seem that years of playing songs with titles like “Exit Music (For a Film)” and “Motion Picture Soundtrack” have had quite the effect on Jonny Greenwood, as the Radiohead guitarist has set to work on scoring the forthcoming Paul Anderson flick, There Will Be Blood.

And before you begin howling, that’s Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia) and not Paul W.S. Anderson, the man responsible for games-to-films Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat, among others.

Color TheFeed intrigued, as the combo of Greenwood, P.T. Anderson and star Daniel Day-Lewis, who only surfaces once every five years or so to make a film, suggests this movie will be one not to be missed.

We’re also psyched for Paul W.S. Anderson’s upcoming adaptation of Spy Hunter, for what it’s worth.
