Famitsu Gives 'GTA IV' Higher Score Than 'LittleBigPlanet'
Posted By: Brian Leahy - Wednesday, October 22, 2008 11:50 AM

Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has given a review score of 39/40 to Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), which received a 10,10,9,10 from their four reviewers. This is notable for two reasons:

  1. Famitsu generally rates most Western games lower than Western reviewers.
  2. LittleBigPlanet (PS3) got a 38/40 with scores of 10,10,9,9.

Now, before you get all outraged that LittleBigPlanet got a lower score, remember that a 38/40 from Famitsu is a great score for any game.

Does this mean that one game is better than the other? Not at all as they are completely different games. It just comes as a surprise to us as LittleBigPlanet seems much more suited to Japanese audiences than Grand Theft Auto IV, but hey, they like those Yakuza games, right?
