Slap a pair of speakers on a backpack and you get one obnoxious yet functional noisemaker.

Are you one of those people unafraid to walk around with a "Radio Raheem" boom box? Raheem had the loudest stereo on the street in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing," and now you can compete. See how on tonight's "Tech Live."

If you don't mind getting loud in public, then lend an ear to the Osiris G-Bag. Osiris makes shoes and clothes for skateboarders and is venturing into the electronics business with the G-Bag. It's not really for the college student hurrying to class, but more for the younger, hipper skateboarder cutting class.

It's easy to use. Any portable CD player or other media player plugs into the little cord at the top, which is connected to a battery pack on the bottom, inside the bag. Flip the battery pack on and you're ready to rock out. Be careful though: The speakers on the sides can be loud. They're 8 watts each and about the size of a fist. They're both attached to the bag, so they can't move around while you do.

Once you accept the fact people are staring at you as you blare loud music from your backpack, you can focus on other things, like why you decided to fill your G-Bag with 50 pounds of stuff. For a portable stereo, this baby can handle quite a load. It has pouches for everything, including the media player, more than a dozen CDs, a water bottle, and a skateboard.

Skate in comfort

So now you're overloaded with books, your backpack is blaring music, and you're on a skateboard. How do your shoulders feel? Great! Thanks for asking. The G-Bag really is comfortable, and it feels sturdy too while you're wearing it. The shoulder straps also have little Velcro tabs, which hold down your player's remote control so you can change tracks or turn up the volume without having to take the bag off.

We like the G-Bag because it's sturdy, it's comfortable, and it can fit a ton of stuff. And it can wake up the neighbors, too. You have to be a certain type of person to wear one, though, and it's a bit pricey at more than $150.
