See how Google is much more than just a search engine.

I love Google, but I'm only beginning to unlock its full potential. Join me Wednesday on "Call for Help" to see how you too can get even more out of my favorite search engine.

  • Google Catalogs
This database lists hundreds of mail-order catalogs, everything from computer manufacturers to stores that sell musical instruments. Each page conveniently lists the vendor's phone number and URL.

  • Google Image Search
Are you looking for a picture of some cheese? No need to go to cheese.com. Just enter a keyword and the database of more than 39 million images should have what you're looking for.

  • Google News
This service automatically gathers up-to-the-minute news from thousands of online sources, and, according to Google, posts the most "relevant" news first.

  • Google Groups
Get your burning questions answered by fellow Google and Usenet users. This area lets you search all information in every one of the Usenet categories. The Usenet database is a great place to find out about and discuss everyday issues.

  • Google Web Directory
It's especially hard to find what you're looking for if you don't know where to look. Similar to the yellow pages, this database helps you narrow your search to sites relevant to your interests.

  • Google Special Searches
"Special" means that you can search databases specific to Linux, BSD, Apple, the US government, and Microsoft.

  • Google Wireless
Want Google on your handheld device? Google's Wireless WebSearch lets you browse a lot more than just webpages designed for phones and PDAs.

  • Google University Search
An alphabetical directory of colleges and universities worldwide simplifies searching for specific types of information such as admissions and scheduling.
