To remove a password-protected screen saver:
  1. Reboot to DOS (on the Shut Down window from the Start menu).
  2. Hit F5 during the booting.
  3. Type the following (in one line) at the C prompt: c:\windows\command\edit c:\windows\system.ini
  4. Press the Enter key to open the SYSTEM.INI file.
  5. In that file, under the [boot] section at the top will be a line that begins SCRNSAVE.EXE. Either delete the line or simply type "rem " (without the quotes, and with a space after) at the start.
