'Growing Pains' star Alan Thicke becomes an honorary Screen Saver,

Alan Thicke is America's most beloved Canadian import since whisky, and nearly twice as intoxicating. Thicke will be in "The Screen Savers" studio on Friday for a sit-down chat with our own Leo Laporte.

The skinny on Thicke
Born Alan Willis Jeffrey in Ontario, Thicke earned popularity North of the border with his daytime talk show, "The Alan Thicke Show," which was turned into a late-night show in the States called "Thicke of the Night."

In the mid-1980s, Thicke landed his most memorable role as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, where he played the loving father to irrepressible teen heartthrob, Kirk Cameron.
