Use this tip to avoid a document faux pas.

The Context-Sensitive Help tool is especially useful for a Microsoft Word document that suffers from formatting faux pas. It's like asking your father, "What's that fo', Pa?" Come along with Chris today as he shows you this cool MS Word feature.

In the menu bar, click on Help and select the "What's This" option. Alternately, you could use the Shift + F1 keyboard shortcut. You should now see a question mark appear next to your pointer (unless you've applied a nontraditional cursor scheme). Hover over any character in the current document window; when you wish to see more about its attributes, simply left-click.

Care to see more? Click elsewhere and you'll find just as much information at your fingertips. When you're finished, just tap the Esc key. I hope you follow my earlier advice and not apply any formatting to a document until it's complete. When you're caught in a jam, this feature may cut down on your frustration.
