Yes, I know. Clippy is annoying. He pops up to remind you of your dumb mistakes, your missed keystrokes. He is always trying to second-guess you, and he thinks you want his friendly suggestions. Now, thanks to "The Screen Savers," you have the power to kill Clippy.

Office 2000 allows you to selectively uninstall office components.

  1. Open the Add/Remove Programs dialogue box from the control panel.
  2. Double-click Microsoft Office 2000, or select it and click Change.
  3. You will get a Maintenance Mode window. Click Add or Remove Features.
  4. Clippie lives in Office Tools. Click the plus sign next to Office Tools and then click Office Assistant.
  5. Choose "Not Available" from the menu.
  6. Hold a funeral for the dear, departed office assistant.
