Q: Can IE5 be used with AOL?

A: The lastest version of AOL 4.0 includes the MS Internet Explorer 4.0 browser. If you want to be on the cutting edge, however, you'll want to be able to access the newest version of Internet Explorer, IE 5.

You can use IE 5 with AOL, but you won't be able to integrate it with AOL. You'll have to use it as an external browser, and it may run a little slower.

That said, here's how you do it:
  • Launch AOL, then go to the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com) and download IE5.
  • After IE5 is installed, minimize AOL and launch IE5.


That's all you need to do!

AOL plans to upgrade to IE5 in the next few months (target date is summer 1999).
