Today's viewer-selected Download of the Day is Boy by the Stewed Tomatoes, an all-grrrl power-pop trio from Chicago. Martie, Lisa, and Katie are all aspiring artists and accomplished technophiles. They take particular pride in the fact that everything associated with their debut album Alive and Well was written, performed, edited, designed, and produced by the band.

Boy is a hallucinogenic pop tune with eerie, effects-laden vocals and a pulsing bass line. With cleaner production, the song would devolve into cheese pop, but as it currently stands -- replete with sloppy segues and sleepy back-up vocals -- it has an odd, punky charm.
