The most promising free fax service I found was Ourfax.com. But "promising" is misleading. Twice I attempted to send a fax down the hall. I had no success in either case. In fact, Ourfax.com doesn't guarantee that your fax will ever arrive. The best Ourfax.com can offer is that it will take anywhere from one minute to two days for your fax to reach its destination. In my case, never.

How does it pay for this free service? Advertising. Not just on the website, but in your fax. Every fax you send will be preceded by a one-page advertisement. If you're doing business, I don't recommend it. Besides, the only thing you can fax is a simple text message. Don't waste your time with free faxing. It isn't worth it.
