It used to be that kids worked in bookstores, flipped burgers, or delivered newspapers to earn money while they were in school. Times have changed. Now, they're building websites and launching their own Internet start-ups. Pick up the paper or turn on the news and chances are you'll hear about a young entrepreneur heading up his own online business.
While many parents scratch their heads and are mystified by the Internet, their kids clearly "get it."


While this might turn many adults green with envy, it should come as no surprise. Research indicates that Internet penetration has now reached more than a quarter of all US households. And when you consider that the federal government and local schools have been deploying computers (and Internet access) at a breakneck pace, it's clear that these young entrepreneurs have come of age in a computer-saturated society.

While many parents scratch their heads and are mystified by the Internet, their kids clearly "get it." Some of them are even getting rich from it.
