To search the Internet you need to have a few things squared away.
  1. You must be connected to the Internet.
    • You must have an account with an ISP (Internet service provider) or an account with an online service like AOL or MSN.


  2. You need a browser. A browser is the interface your computer uses to display the websites on the Internet. The two most popular are Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape's Navigator.

    If you use AOL, we're going to assume that you're running version 4.0 or better. These versions allow you to use either Netscape or Explorer.
