What are you more willing to click on: a text link or a flashy graphic?

Experienced Web surfers shun flashy banner ads like the plague. Most of us have gotten so good at ignoring ads that only the most obnoxious pop-ups manage to catch our eye (and trigger our rage). But according to this MSNBC article, plain text ads have inexplicably become more popular than ever. It appears that a simple, understated link draws more clicks than an animated monkey with a target on its butt.
