Online marketers claim you signed up for this stuff. But where?

"Registration required" is the new online reality. Without thought, we trade our personal information for free access to online newspapers, software downloads, and useful Internet services. But hidden stealthily within most website registration forms lies a tiny, checked box that effectively sells your soul (and your email address) to spammers.
By not unchecking the box that says "Send me offers," you have officially "opted in" for thousands of junk email messages.
On Tuesday's show, we'll talk with Laura Betterly (read the full article), an "online marketer" who claims her emails are anything but "unsolicited." She swears she only sends targeted emails to people who specifically opt in to receive offers for her particular products and services. But should overlooking a checked box count as opting in?
Leo and Megan want to know if you think Betterly's bulk email campaign still qualifies as spam. Is it unsolicited email if you technically said "OK?" Vote in our online poll and post your thoughts on this tricky question in the Talkback section below.
