Two "Monday Night Football" sportscasters and an Olympic-medal winner talk with Martin about the Internet, instantaneous stats, and sports tech.

Al Michaels of ABC's Monday Night Football has a sweet custom setup in his broadcast booth. A sequence of monitors instantantly display and update the statistics he needs to see as the game unfolds, cutting through the time-consuming data-gathering that had to be done in years past.

On Monday's show, Michaels talks to Martin about this and other technological advances that have made sports broadcasting easier. Martin also speaks to "Monday Night Football" reporter Melissa Stark and Olympic and World skating-award winner Michelle Kwan about technology in sports.

In the videos you'll see the following.

  • Michaels on Web research and having his voice in Electronic Art's Madden 2003 game.
  • Stark on doing research at The Red Zone and the danger of taking the magic out of sports by using too many technological tricks. Stark also lent her voice to Madden's game and says she actually gets more praise from fans for being in the game than for being on "Monday Night Football."
  • Kwan chats about visiting her fansites and interacting with fans.
