Warriors: Legends of Troy Preview

What We Already Know

Picture the "one against many" style of the Dynasty Warriors series, only set during the Trojan War. That gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect from Warriors: Legends of Troy.

What We're Seeing Now

Though the game will prove very familiar to fans of the Dynasty Warriors games, there are definitely some differences. For one thing, Legends of Troy is significantly more brutal -- significantly. Hacking through enemies throws generous splatters of blood around, and the player-controlled character (generally taken from Greek history or mythology) can finish off enemies with brutal impalements.

It's also possible to simply scare off enemies with your brutal magnificence, whereupon you can elect to toss a finely sharpened weapon into their retreating back. These long-distance attacks come complete with kill cams that follow the trajectory of the weapon. Engaging in such brutal behavior charges up your fury meter...allowing you to lash about with even more brutality.

So, to recap: Dynasty Warriors. Trojan War. Lots of blood. Yup, that pretty much covers it.
