Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Interview Blowout

By Brian Leahy - Posted Oct 27, 2009

Unless you've been living under a rock or are currently participating in a PC version boycott, Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 should be furiously blipping on your assault rifle-mounted hype sensor.

Adam Sessler, lucky devil that he is, recently traveled to Infinity Ward's studios to talk with the brains behind the game. Up first, he talks with Joel Emslie, lead character artist, about the co-operative Spec-Ops mode and we've got an exclusive reveal on one of the game's missions. Hint: it involves an AC-130 gunship, laser targeting, and epic badassness.

If you want to see the raw gameplay footage of that awesome Spec-Ops mission, all you need to do is click this internet hyperlink to watch the Exclusive Modern Warfare 2 Spec-Ops AC-130 Mission Gameplay or watch it here!

Multiplayer in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare took Xbox Live and PSN by storm with its addictive gameplay, experience and unlock system, and Prestige Mode. Adam spoke with Todd Alderman, lead multiplayer designer, to talk customizable kill streaks, advanced streaming technology, and more!

Say you're an accomplished entertainment veteran credited with projects like the 2003, Oscar-winning feature film Monster (story editor) and television drama staple NCIS (writer). You're minding your own business when highly regarded game development house, Infinity Ward, comes knocking on your door. They ask you to create a story from scratch having no consideration for any financial restrictions whatsoever exploring the dark recesses of the modern day terrorist mind. What happens?

Find out, as Adam continues the interview train with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's writer Jesse Stern.

Adam regrouped with Todd Alderman to rig up some exclusive walkthroughs for the two multiplayer trailers that Infinity Ward has released. Get the inside scoop into what's going on through all the chaos and find out why Infinity Ward chose to show what they did.

Do not even bother signing the PC petition of Modern Warfare 2. It wont do jack. This game will do well and we PC users will get the SHAFT as the PS3 and XBOX becomes the norm and gaming companies will ignore the PC users and go all Console for everything but MMOs.

As you read this - you may even be reading this on a ... PC. I typed this entire article on a... PC. PCs are not dead!

    WE PC-Gamers do live.

I also want to point out, that I am not very good at FPS. I am better than some, but rarely will get more than a +6 on a kill streak - unless people are silly and I am getting lucky. I got better by playing better people and not by playing people with the same crappy skills as me.

Few will argue that we do not need to get rid of the bots and cheat programs! So, why are we PC gamers up in arms? Is this whole arguement about control or the ability to have control?

On the surface it does look like us PC users are arguing for the sake of argument or for the ability to control stuff that other people deem a nonfactor. However, it is more than that! This is about demoralizing an existing time proven PC ability and turning it into a XBOX or PS3 version. If we wanted a XBOX or PS3 version of MW2, why do you think we do not simply BUY a PS3 or XBOX version of MW2?

I wont bother repeating previous rants on this subject. However, DO NOT SUPPORT A COMPANY THAT FORGETS THAT WE THE PEOPLE ARE WHO WANT TO PAY TO PLAY THESE GAMES. WE THE PEOPLE DESERVE RESPECT AND WANT COMPANIES TO WANT TO EARN OUR MONEY. I want to throw money at MW2. I want to buy SEVERAL copies and play to my hearts content. WELL FOOIE on me for being a PC-GAMER.

I am not the world's quickest draw, gunfighter, nor can I use the mouse to down 5 enemies with 5 bullets in 1.5 seconds. The Modern Warefare petition is a joke. WHO CARES if they dont get my money. When PS3 and XBOX users are buying the game and some users are buying the game for BOTH SYSTEMS?

I am sooooo PUMPED for MF2.....6 days left and it is here!!!

I am a little curious like Monsta said of why IW hasnt said anything about the game going gold.

Being less than a week left i would think it would have been announced already.

This game is going to be monumental.......Pre-Orders alone have set GameStop records.

I most def am not going to be leaving my house for like 4 days straight lolol.

Cpt Price is alive, DC gets destroyed by Mikhael, theres no recoil, sniper rifles can be fired from the hip now, with unreal accuracy, grenades have trails, most of the content in mw2 has been stolen from modders.

oh, and the xbox version is now standing at close to a million pirated copies on the torrent sites. Go figure.

Piracy on the PC? Is that the reason there are over 200,000 people playing the xbox version RIGHT NOW?

There is over 600,000 torrenting the game for xbox 360 as we speak. So explain that one to me then.

Boycotting the game will only make PC sales less, and make companies more hesitant to make games for the PC. The console market is growing and more games are being sold there. Not to mention piracy.

Looks like PC gaming is a dieing.
