  • Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Review

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles improves on 2007's first Resident Evil on-rails shooter The Umbrella Chronicles in every way. RE fans will love returning to old haunts, collecting hundreds of archive items and blasting familiar foes, provided that the camerawork doesn't make them queasy.

  • New Super Mario Bros. Wii Review

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a love note to the 2D series, and in that sense, it evokes the wonderful splendor of the game's past. Enemies long forgotten and mechanics which kept this plumber employed even during the hard times are all present in this title. However, Mario is not without his missteps.

  • Rabbids Go Home Review

This time, the Rabbids are not only given their turn in the spotlight, but they're also busting out of the mini-game collection genre that has contained them for far too long. Rabbids Go Home isn't your typical platformer, but we would expect nothing less based on its protagonists.

  • Band Hero Review

    Posted: November 3, 2009

Love music games but think Rock Band has too much rock and Guitar Hero that nasty guitar? Then Band Hero, so named because "Pop Hero" sounds a bit funny, might be for you. The art is shiny and friendly, the songs are (mostly) culled from the pop charts, and there's even a karaoke mode for those times when plastic instruments just aren't...

  • LEGO Rock Band Review

LEGO Rock Band isn't for Rock Band fans, or even LEGO Batman fans old enough to buy games on their own. But if you're the parent of a little kid and want a game that you can play together, you'd be hard pressed to find anything that will keep you both as engaged and entertained.

  • Need for Speed: Nitro Review

With the recently released Need for Speed: Shift, Electronic Arts appeared to have its beloved racing franchise back on the right track. Sadly, EA decided to release another Need for Speed game this year, Need for Speed: Nitro, and tarnish the critical and commercial success attained by Shift in one blistering-fast lap. The game definitely has...

  • Ju-on: The Grudge Review

Based on the Japanese movies of the same name, this horror game attempts to break new ground. Sadly, unless slow and boring were the developer's goals, they don't succeed. Even fans of the movies will likely find this grudge too hard to bear.

  • Wii Fit Plus Review

    Posted: October 20, 2009

Wii Fit has undergone a bit of a cosmetic makeover and emerged as Wii Fit Plus, a more robust collection of mini-games utilizing the Wii Balance Board. Wii Fit Plus will not magically make you skinny; however, its offerings are fun enough to get your lazy butt up off the couch.

Two years ago Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games earned its keep by doing the unthinkable: combining characters from long-time rivals Nintendo and Sega. Now they're back together for the Winter Olympics, but will you feel the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat?

A Boy and his Blob is the kind of game the Nintendo Wii was designed for. It features simple-but-beautiful graphics, innovative gameplay and an emotionally compelling story that everyone in the family can enjoy.

  • Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes (Wii) Review

    Posted: October 7, 2009 | 3 Comments

A third-person action game, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is based on the CGI 'toon that just started its second season on Cartoon Network, with the same great voice cast and recognizable sound effects. But unlike the show, which is clearly designed to be for Star Wars fans of all ages, this game is clearly aimed more at its younger...

Kid-friendly beat-em-up game play returns to the Wii in Spyborgs, an arcade style brawler. Technically strong, Spyborgs offers a robust, albeit slightly repetitive, experience for those who yearn to kick the crap out of stuff.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up Review

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up takes its inspiration from Nintendo's own Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Can the pizza-loving posse outperform a pesky pair of plumbers and a plucky princess? Or are the developers at Game Arts, many of whom actually worked on Nintendo's flagship fighting game, just setting themselves up for comparisons more...

For the second year in a row, 2K stands alone on the Wii's frozen pond. This time out, the team at Visual Concepts stepped up their efforts on Nintendo's machine and delivered a fun-but-flawed hockey experience.
