  • Xenoblade Chronicles Review

    Posted: April 12, 2012 | 22 Comments

Xenoblade Chronicles is the sort of precious jRPG that this recent console generation has sorely lacked. Despite some missteps and over-complication, the game stands out as one of the best in recent years. Xenoblade creates a world simply begging to be explored.

  • WWE '12 Review

From the ashes of the popular SmackDown vs. RAW series rises WWE '12, a game that only barely resembles the game you've been used to playing for the last couple of years, with the doors thrown open and a new philosophy that breathes life into what was already a pretty good franchise.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Review

Skyward Sword joins Super Mario 64 as a game that almost single-handedly justifies Nintendo's approach to hardware development, and stands as one of the best titles in the storied franchise. Still, it can't get away from a few minor faults that stop it just short of perfection.

Rayman Origins delights and amazes at every turn. Everything from the art style to the characters to the settings is brimming with creativity, and while the platforming is definitely challenging, you won't be able to play this game without a huge smile on your face.

  • Bit.Trip Complete Review

    Posted: September 27, 2011

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Bit.Trip Complete is a stellar collection of an ambitious six-part indie series. There's plenty of variety between each game and they all provide sublime surreal imagery married to lovely chiptune music. However, its punishing difficulty, trial and error design, and unforgiving checkpoints make it an acquired taste that requires extreme...

The genre-versatile High Voltage Software finally has its follow-up to one of the very few FPS titles for the Nintendo Wii. While coming out in a week overshadowed by sequels on other platforms, this sci-fi shooter has a number of things going for it with features that followers of this now-series will appreciate.

  • Mario Sports Mix Review

    Posted: February 24, 2011 | 6 Comments

Mario Sports Mix should be a fun wrapper for the sports of Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, and Dodgeball. Instead, it's a boring rehash of wiggleware that leaves you feeling like you've done all of this before.

  • de Blob 2 Review

    Posted: February 22, 2011 | 11 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

De Blob returns in another paint-filled, coloring adventure. Comrade Black is sucking all the fun out of Prisma City and only one lone blob (and his robot buddy) can save the poor citizens from a dull life of black and white conformity. Roll, jump, and climb through massive levels, painting everything in the way, while upgrading your blob and...

  • Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time Review

    Posted: February 4, 2011 | 3 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time is a great premise terribly realized. Assembling your own vehicles is a captivating idea, but its awful controls, physics, and interface make doing so a chore. A nice proof of concept, but hardly a worthwhile game.

  • Lost in Shadow Review

    Posted: January 6, 2011 | 3 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

Taking a major cue from the atmosphere and themes of ICO and adding some of the darkly devious 2D side-scrolling nature of Limbo, Lost in Shadow is a visually distinctive Wii side scroller. If the game could have actually lived up to its desired pedigree, it would have been stunning. But as is, this isn't a bad little adventure game.

  • Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition Review

    Posted: December 17, 2010 | 33 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

No one can argue the quality or playability of the featured games in this collection, but it's hard not to expect more from Nintendo. Re-releasing a 17-year-old compilation on disc for its most important character's silver anniversary is a huge disappointment, though those who haven't yet experienced these versions won't care in the slightest.

  • TRON: Evolution Battle Grids Review

    Posted: December 10, 2010 | 12 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

TRON: Evolution Battle Grids is an entirely different game than it's bigger brother on the Xbox 360 and PS3 (which is just called TRON: Evolution), and in many ways is more enjoyable. If you're looking for a TRON experience that is closer to the original film and arcade game, this is it.

  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Review

    Posted: November 30, 2010 | 33 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is the interactive companion piece for the just-released movie of the same name. Like many movie-games, this one was released for multiple platforms; however, only the Xbox 360 version offered an extra mode with Kinect compatibility. Movie games get a bad rap for not being good and Deathly Hallows does...
