Game Description:Wii Sports Resort, a brand new version of Wii Sports, offers gamers a day at the beach. This sequel to the popular Wii Sports uses the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with Wii Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion. Just as with Wii Sports, people will love competing against friends and family. As the competition heats up, Wii Sports Resort is as much fun to watch as it is to play. First-time players will find it easy to pick up a Wii Remote and jump into the action. Wii Sports Resort takes place on a tropical island. A wide range of activities will keep players coming back for one more round. Some sample activities include Sword Play, Power Cruising (racing a water scooter) and Disc Dog, which involves accurately tossing a disc to a cute, Mii-like dog.

  • Has Project Natal Found Its Wii Sports? When Will We Finally See Actual Games?

Project Natal might have a release window of during the holidays, but that doesn't answer the litany of questions that remain about Microsoft's entry into motion gaming. Since its E3 reveal, we've seen tech demos and examples of how Project Natal can graft onto existing gaming experiences, but Microsoft and third-parties have remained quiet on...

  • NPD Analysis: November 2009 Software Sales -- Modern Warfare 2 Sells 6 Million

We knew it was going to be a big month for Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. How big? The NPD Group numbers are officially in for November: Modern Warfare 2 sold 6,070,000 copies across both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last month. PC numbers aren't available. It was a massive month for both hardware and software, though. Even though...

  • Analysis: September 2009 Software Sales -- Halo 3: ODST Sells 1.52 Million

Microsoft and Bungie Studios didn't give the release of Halo 3: ODST the same blockbuster treatment as Halo 3, but that didn't stop the Halo faithful from coming out in big numbers for the latest fight against the Covenant. September 2009 sales numbers from the NPD Group report Halo 3: ODST sold 1.52 million copies, with its closest competitor,...

  • Analysis: August 2009 Software Sales -- Madden Pushes Near 2M, Batman Soars

You'll notice that Wii Sports Resort isn't in the headline. Of course Nintendo's follow-up to Wii Sports did well in August, based on the numbers released by the NPD Group today. It wasn't the number-one selling game, however, as that spot went to Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 2010. All told, Madden NFL 2010 was August's big winner, selling 1.9...

  • Wii Sports Resort Sells 1 Million Units In The US, 3 Million Worldwide

It has only been a month since Nintendo’s beach-side compilation game Wii Sports Resort was released in the United States, but Nintendo has managed to sell over 1 million copies of the Wii MotionPlus-fest during that time. The game has also surpassed the 1 million mark in Japan and Europe, which, if I've done my math correctly, means over...
