  • Toy Soldiers: Cold War Review

    Posted: August 16, 2011

    Average User Rating

Toy Soldiers: Cold War is a innovative twist on the popular tower defense genre. Taking control of individual turrets and vehicles gives the genre a more aggressive spin, while forgiving checkpointing and compelling multiplayer options extend its life. It doesn't make the most out of its toy subject matter and the camera can be a pain, but this...

  • El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron Review

    Posted: August 16, 2011

Fantastic visuals are unable to save this game from what it is: a dated Japanese PS2 game with shallow combat mechanics; however, if you find yourself interested in the visuals I encourage you to rent or borrow it, you may find it to be well worth your time.

  • Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Review

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is the amalgam of a remarkable style and the pinnacle of the "Metroidvania" style of exploration-based gaming. Everything it attempts works, but ideally, it would have gone one step further.

  • From Dust Review

It is hard to appreciate all of From Dust's successes without actually playing it yourself. There are some noticeable A.I. and control issues for sure, but the environmental-based design and vibrant presentation offer something so refreshing that, if you're open to it, you can't help but be swept up by it.

  • Captain America: Super Soldier Review

Despite their checkered past, SEGA delivers a solid comic book to movie to video game adaptation in Captain America: Super Soldier. The combat and story are satisfying enough to make you remember Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Chris Evans voicing Captain America ties it solidly to the movie. Well worth your time, whether you see the movie or not.

  • Ms. Splosion Man Review

    Posted: July 14, 2011

    Average User Rating

With Ms. Splosion Man, the follow up to the wonderfully wacky Xbox Live Arcade title Splosion Man, the team takes the one button platforming mechanics of the first title and builds on it in plenty of dastardly ways. Throw in three unique game worlds, hidden levels, epic boss battles, an endless slew of pop culture references, a unique and hearty...

    Average User Rating

Magic: The Gathering ? Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is a solid sequel, if not nearly a complete overhaul, to Stainless Games' original trading card game. This updated version provides much needed deck management, adds the popular Archenemy mode, and incorporates Challenges directly into the Campaign. A definite must for fans of Magic: The...

    Average User Rating

NCAA Football 12 is an immersive college football experience, allowing you to either jump in and play, or get granular with the sport, engaging it on every level. It's fun and challenging, but close enough to last year's edition that you might not find it a must-buy.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is a great guilty pleasure full of bug splattering goodness. Repetition might make it so you've had your fill too early and there's an abundance of grinding, but its epic scale, destructible terrain, and larger than life battles make for a cathartic pastime.

Despite a few flaws, Dungeon Siege III marks the welcome return of the high fantasy-themed action-RPG. It generally retains the looting-and-leveling addictiveness the genre's known for, while also making the experience accessible to those brought up clutching a gamepad. If you're a fan of cracking open skulls and treasure chests, the Kingdom of...
