E3 2010: Global Agenda Preview

What We Already Know:

Global Agenda is quite a rare beast: a massively multiplayer online third-person shooter. In it, players struggle to control territory on a resource-depleted Earth, and by “struggle” I mean “kill each other a lot.” Global Agenda is actually already out, and was at E3 to show off some upcoming features.

What We're Seeing Now:

Global Agenda is a hybrid, being part shooter, part MMO. Right now the Mercenary PvP mode is the main attraction but the team at Hi-Rez Studios is working to bolster the game’s PvE content as well.

Lots of new content is either already out or soon incoming. All four classes (Assault, Medic, Recon and Robotics) have new goodies to equip and a variety of new ways to customize their looks. A recent Solo PvE mode gives loners something to do. A wide-open overworld-type zone is soon to hit, with more traditional MMO-style questing content. In short, Global Agenda seems to be trying to do a little of everything.

The game’s essentially free for now, as Hi-Rez gets its ducks in order and solidifies its plans for premium content. If you can handle the 6-gig Steam demo download there’s no better time.
