Spore Latest News - Mac

Game Description:From the very tiniest forms of life to the intergalactic level of existence, you are in control of life itself in this simulation game by Will Wright. Beginning in the primordial ooze, players create a character from DNA that will grow, survive, and mate as it evolves from a single-celled organism to a fully-formed member of an establishing species. As more and more creatures inhabit the world, and as evolution forms the future, your species will join herds, clans, even civilizations. The more advanced the creatures of the planet grow, the more complex the strife of survival becomes. And while the player can continue gameplay in Spore at any level -- playing as a cell, as a wild creature, or as a civilized and organized society – players can also step even further out and play the game from the planetary or interstellar level, while also going online to connect worlds with other gamers.

  • EA To Relax 'Spore' DRM In Upcoming Patch

Seems like Electronic Arts has slightly succumbed to the internet outrage over Spore's DRM and will relax the copy-protection on Will Wright's new game in an upcoming patch. The patch will add functionality to de-authorize computers, much like iTunes works for purchased tracks. You will still only be able to activate the game on three machines...

  • 'Spore' Creatures With Anti-DRM Slant

Spore, Will Wright's universe simulator, is quickly becoming the darling of the techy/nerd/gamer set, but it's being dealt some vicious backlash by players who can't stand the game's DRM. Creative, DRM-haters are taking it to the game and making creatures that protest the policies of EA, the game's publisher. While making a Spore creature to...

  • EA Responds To 'Spore' DRM Concerns

EA has been fighting some internet backlash over Spore's DRM issues, but they have responded with hard numbers. The outrage comes from EA's limit of three activations before having to call customer service for a shot at some additional activations. This has even led to Amazon.com's review page for Spore being overrun by 1-star reviews from...

  • 'Spore' Manual Misprint Controversy

Well this is defintely not another Rick Roll. The user manual in EA's recent simulation hit, Spore, states that "multiple Spore accounts for each installation of the game" are allowed. Turns out that that whole statement's a big fat lie, as an EA rep confirmed via the game's official forum "that section in the manual was a...

  • Earth Is In 'Spore'

Fret not, for any doubt about Spore's creationist leanings are to finally be solved by this fact: Earth is in Spore and gamer Galrith has done all the work for us in locating it. It's quite appropriately in our Solar System on Orion's belt in the Milky Way Galaxy. Remember to avoid the Galactic Core as it is very crowded and the Guardians...

Will Wright's Spore is making news all over the internet, either whinges about the game's DRM or because people think it's awesome, but one site finds the god-game to be decidedly anti-awesome. Will Wright, the creator of Sim City, The Sims and now Spore has a few words for his critics in which we takes a look at the numbers--sales vs. critical: "Spore has more depth than, let's say, The Sims did. But we looked at the Metacritic scores for Sims 2, which was around 90, and something like Half-Life, which was 97, and we decided -...

  • Gamers React To 'Spore' DRM

PC and Mac game Spore has only been out for a few days, and gamers are weighing in with their opinions. While critical opinions of the game vary, gamers are close to unanimous on one issue: The game's Digital Rights Management. Spore's DRM seems a tad ridiculous. Apparently, if you purchase the game, you can only install it on three computers...

  • 'Spore': It's for the Little Guys

Will Wright sure knows how to make a guy feel completely insignificant. There, he tells...
