Aliens: Infestation delivers an excellent take on the universe created in the films, and it should appeal to fans of classic video games of the sort that were coming out at around the same time as the movie.

Ultra-nationalists in Russia are threatening the world once again. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is a turn-based strategy game that builds on the espionage and international conspiracy themes of its namesake. Players control a group of six tactically varied Ghost soldiers as they try and avert a crisis from behind enemy lines.

  • Bust-A-Move Universe 3DS Review

The venerable classic of the connect-three puzzle genre returns for another outing. Now in 3D, Bust-a-Move's gameplay remains classic, but the 3DS version's omission of multiplayer assures that bursting bubbles on the go will be a lonely endeavor.

  • PilotWings Resort 3DS Review

    Posted: March 23, 2011

    Average User Rating

PilotWings Resort hits the same highs and same lows of the previous two games, but it does it in skeptic-converting 3D. The game doesn't last long, but it's a beautiful, (at times) peaceful ride that sets a solid foundation for what the 3DS is capable of delivering in the future.

  • Okamiden Review

    Posted: March 15, 2011

    Average User Rating

The first follow-up to Clover's standout Zelda tribute struggles mightily to ape the PS2/Wii original. But the DS can only go so far, and the toned-down graphics leave Okami's flaws in sharp relief. Grade-school dramatics and endemic hand-holding make Okamiden feel as immature as its protagonists.

  • de Blob 2 for the Nintendo DS Review

    Posted: March 2, 2011 | 1 Comment

    Average User Rating

De Blob 2 is a solid platformer with tight controls, charming presentation, and some neat gimmicks. It won't present much challenge to older players and is over too soon, but it's a polished title that would make a fine kid's game.

Sora is back in this port of Square Enix's 2008 mobile phone game. While there's plenty of Disney and Final Fantasy fan service, the fact that it's little more than a rehash of Kingdom Hearts with an inconsequential story that might drive away even ardent fans.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a graphically impressive turn-based RPG that reeks of nostalgia while still managing to feel fresh. However, it is held back from perfection by its lack of challenge and an insistence on long winded exposition.

  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem Review

Though it's not the Mini/Baby yaoi crossover recently predicted by industry analyst Michael Pachter, Mario and Donkey Kong's fourth handheld showdown is nothing to thumb your nose at. The difficulty is just right, the create and share mode is back, and Mario's taste in women has migrated to Slutsburg. Wind ?em up: it's puzzle time.
