Guitar Hero: On Tour Latest News - DS

Guitar Hero: On Tour
Game Description:Your jock will be rocked with the first DS entry in Red Octane's music series for guitar gods. This portable version features the same rhythm-based "play to the music" gameplay of console game, and will even have its own peripheral to get the job done: Red Octane has developed what it's calling the Guitar Grip to give players the ability to finger chords in similar fashion as the console version's guitar peripheral. Guitar Hero: On Tour will contain a wealth of licensed songs from bands as Nirvana, OK Go, and No Doubt, allowing gamers to rock out to tunes by some of their own guitar heroes. Players will be able to pick from six different guitarists to represent them in-game, with secret venues and outfits to unlock. And in addition to a full Career Mode, the game also has co-op or competitive two-player play, including special "On Tour" challenges exclusive to the DS game (with power-ups that will send opponents into a frenzied touchscreen autograph session or set their pyrotechnics display to go haywire and require players to blow out the fire.)

  • Activision Releasing Far Fewer Guitar Hero Games In 2010

The music genre isn't the star child it used to be. It continues to be a solid performer for both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but interest has waned. A common critique has been Activision's deluge of Guitar Hero releases, potentially diluting consumer interest. Whether Activision will ever admit that or not, the company is radically scaling back...

  • Pictures Of Old People Playing Guitar Hero As Funny As It Sounds

Hey, I don't have anything against old people. Decades from now, when every game is motion controlled, youngsters will be laughing at me, too. But for the time being, it's the other way around. The Faster Times recently ran a series of photos collected from Flickr chronicling a series of older men and women trying their hand at ye ol' Guitar...

  • Jimmy Page And Jack White Don't Like Guitar Hero

It's interesting to find out how rockers feel about music games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Yeah, they're just games, and we just have fun with them, but it must be surreal to have your art, job and craft appear in a video game. If you've poured your life-blood and passion into a musical composition, it must be really, really weird to have...

  • 311 Is No Good At Guitar Hero

311, the band, are good at many things, but, apparently, Guitar Hero isn't one of them. In this video preview for their new album, "Uplifter,' directed by horror impresario Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2), the guys struggle with producer Bob Rock, as he tries to get them on the same page to be able to play their own song. It's pretty funny. You...

  • Ottoman Stores Your 'Rock Band' Instruments

We all know the downside of having a sweet Rock Band set up is finding an easily-accessable place to store all the instruments. I have a corner in my living room where I keep the drum kit and two guitars, but every time I want to rock out i have to move the coffee table, carry the drums over, and put them together. Well if you've got a spare 200...
