Company Description: 3D Realms was founded in 1994, initially under the name Apogee Software Ltd. Eventually, 3D Realms was split off of Apogee Software, and began developing their own games. 3D Realms originally distributed their software through shareware networks, but later sold them offline. In 1996 Apogee Software studio was discontinued, and 3D Realms continued to develop games. 3D Realms is most known for the first two Duke Nukem games, Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem 3D respectively. 3D Realms has over the years distributed and published several of games for the PC, the Xbox 360, and older consoles.
